The Air-O-Swiss 7145 Ultrasonic is
the more economical cousin of some of the top of the
line Air-O-Swiss humidifiers. This humidifier is
compact, lightweight, and comes with a black/carbon
finish. Though the tank capacity is a bit less than
larger models the moisture output is nearly the
same, at 3 gallons, over a 25 hour period. For most
homes, the size of this humidifier will be adequate
to humidify several rooms with an open floor plan.
Like most Air-O-Swiss humidifiers, the 7145 has a replaceable demineralization cartridge that works to
ensure a water mist without lime scale or mineral residue. The cartridge is refillable or replaceable, and basically acts as
your water filter in the unit. As with all Air-O-Swiss humidifiers, do NOT use additives to the water. Even small amounts of
chemical additives or fragrances can damage your unit.
The 7145 Ultrasonic also comes equipped with
Air-O-Swiss's Ionic Silver Stick that releases silver
ions to help prevent microbe growth. This couples with
the ultrasonic vibrations that actually create the mist
work to destroy the cell walls of bacteria and other
microbes. These three features make the Air-O-Swiss
humidifiers the most hygienic units we have available.
What I like about the Air-O-Swiss 7145 Ultrasonic Humidifier
Aside from the hygienic features, the Air-O-Swiss 7145 is an ideal humidifier for most applications in that the compact size
and modern design of this unit fits most home uses. The small footprint makes it easy to use in nearly any room, regardless of space
considerations, and the moisture output rivals that of many of the top of the line Air-O-Swiss models.
The dual directional output regulator is a small but helpful feature. This allows you to split the mist stream for better coverage
in all areas. The smoke/carbon colored water fill tank is transparent enough for you to note when the humidifier needs to be refilled, and
this unit comes with an empty indicator light as well.
The Air-O-Swiss 7145 is very simple to use. Simply fill the tank from the bottom, replace the tank on the unit, and set the desired
humidity and output level with two knobs.
What I do not like about the Air-O-Swiss 7145 Ultrasonic Humidifier
The capacity of the tank may be a drawback for some. Though the overall output is the same as larger models, the smaller tank
may require you to fill it more often if you are needing a great deal of moisture pushed back into the air of your home.
Though the controls are simple to use, some people may find they like having the ability to set a time, having a digital
display, or being able to use a full array of digital controls.
In all, the Air-O-Swiss 7145 is a very economical unit with uncompromising results. From moisture output and hygienic
features to the modern finish and compact design, the 7145 Ultrasonic is solid room humidifier that won't break your budget.
