601 by the AHAM is
438 for smoke, 400 or greater for dust and 450 or greater for pollen for a 679
sq. ft. room. This compares to an average competitor rating of 155 or one third
of the effective rate of the Blueair Model 601.
The CADR ratings were developed by AHAM to help consumers make meaningful
comparisons between air purifiers in terms of actual performance by measuring
their ability to remove airborne pollutants such as tobacco smoke, dust and
pollen tests air purifiers. The higher the rating, the faster the unit filters
the air.
