The Air-O-Swiss 1355N is a 2-in-1 humidifier and air purifier that washes and
humidifies a room's air without evaporator mats.
Like the Air-O-Swiss 2055, this humidifier uses special humidifier discs that turn through the water and remove large dust and
pollen particles from the air naturally, which gives great relief
to allergy sufferers. The discs have a great
adhesion for water to guarantee high humidity output, and by using multiple discs, humidity output is even more significant due
to an increased evaporative surface area inside the unit.
What I like about the Air-O-Swiss 1355N Air Washer
The dual use of the Air-O-Swiss 1355N is likely its most unique and most valuable feature. While other humidifiers simply
work on putting clean cool moisture back in the air, the 1355N Air Washer actually helps remove particles and debris from the air.
So the unit not only humidifies the air, but it cleans
the air as well.
The 1355N Air Washer is easy to maintain, clean, and operate. There are no filters or
evaporator mats to replace. The water tank is transparent and easy to remove. The discs are dishwasher safe and the inside of the unit
is very easy to clean.
Lastly, there are no demineralization cartridges to replace. Because air washers operate on the principle of evaporation, mineral
content in the water simply settles in the tank itself or on the rotating discs. This turns the cost of replacing or refilling cartridges
into simply wiping the bottom of the reservoir out with a damp cloth and cleaning the discs.
What I do not like about the Air-O-Swiss 1355N Air Washer
Unlike other Air-O-Swiss humidifiers, one thing I did not like about the AOS 1355N was that it has a smaller tank than some of the
other models. Though it will put nearly two gallons of water back into the air during a 24 hour period. At that rate, you should only need to fill
the tank once per day.
Secondly, the unit does not have the digital control over the humidification output that some of the other Air-O-Swiss
units offer. Because it lacks these controls, you may want to invest in a hygrometer or external humidistat to
accurately gauge relative humidity levels.
In summary, the AOS 1355N combines simple operation with minimal
energy use. This unit is nearly silent and works great in the bedroom for a light sleeper. The unit's sleek design
minimizes its footprint in your bedroom or living area, and most importantly, it not only humidifies your room, but
also cleans the air. Coupled with a hygrometer, the Air-O-Swiss 1355N is an ideal unit for allergy and asthma
sufferers or those concerned with dry skin or eczema.
