Air-O-Swiss 7135 Ultrasonic Humidifiers

The Air-O-Swiss ultrasonic humidifiers use high frequency vibrations to emit a fine mist of water into the room where the mist immediately evaporates. The Air-O-Swiss can be used as a cool mist humidifier during the summer, or as a warm mist humidifier (pre-heated to 104° F) for dry winter air.

**The Air-O-Swiss 7135 humidifier was recently rated the top of its category in home humidifiers. From hygiene and safety to ease of use and coverage area, the AOS 7135 ultrasonic humidifier came in as the recommended model for home humidification.**

If you have allergies, then you should pay close attention to the humidity in your home. When the humidity is too high, allergens like mold and dust mites will multiply, but when the humidity is too low, the air becomes dry and harsh on the sinuses, nose, throat, and skin. The Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Humidifier can generate up to 3.5 gallons of water a day, and it comes with a built-in hygrostat so that you can monitor the relative humidity level and a humidistat to control the humidity level.

Easy to use and maintain, these humidifiers come with either digital or manual controls and a removable transparent cover. Operation is a breeze with digital controls like an LCD display, timer, automatic mode, sleep mode, and indicators that let you know when it's time to empty or clean the unit. The Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic Humidifiers are ultra-quiet and do not consume much power. The included Hydro Stick provides constant freshness in these humidifiers. The Hydro Stick needs to be replaced only once a year. A demineralization cartridge, which should be replaced every three months, prevents mineral residues from contaminating the water.

  Air-O-Swiss 7135 Humidifier

We love our Air-O-Swiss 7135 Humidifier - we checked the reviews first and then purchased it. My husband and I have allegies year round. We now don't wake up with dry nasal passages and don't wake up in the middle of the night not being able to breathe due to dry air and no humidity flowing. I would highly recommend it - especially in the south where it can be very dry. Thanks again for providing us with a worthwhile product.

This humidifier is extremely quiet & works really well. It is heavy to fill with water, but I have my husband do it.

I tried several cheaper humidifiers thinking that they would get the job done. They don't. Consumer Reports rated this model as the best. It is. Every morning I would wake up with dry mouth and clogged sinuses. After the first night we used this we woke up without the stuffy dryness. Relief at last! All humidifiers require some form of maintenance and it can get costly. You don't just add water every night and it works perfect. There is demineralization cartridge that needs replacement every 2 to 3 months. It also has a Hydro Stick that you replace yearly. Depending on your water source the unit needs to be cleaned about every 2 weeks. If not mineral deposits will accumulate and blow white dust not harmful into the room. To clean it you need Ezcal, a sample is provided. You mix this with 32 oz of hot water, scrub with the provided brush then let it sit for 30 minutes. Ezcal is not cheap. A box costs about $8.00 and it contains 3 packets. If you're cleaning every 2 weeks this can add up. The owners manual states you Must Use Ez[clean]. I called customer service. They told me that White Vinegar add 8 ounces to 24 ounces of hot water will work just as good. This is a tremendous cost savings. Conclusion: This is the best humidifier you can buy. You will appreciate it the first night that you use it. Be prepared to do a little maintenance and you love this product.

Customer Q & A

Q1: Does this have any parts that needs to be replaced and how often?
A: There are two replacement parts - the demineralization cartridge and Hydro stick. The Hydro stick is generally replaced annually, and works to keep the water free of bacteria, germs, etc. The Demineralization cartridge needs to be replaced every 2 weeks to 3 months. This all depends on how hard your water is. If you notice any fine white dust, it's time to replace the cartridge. This is the mineral content in your water, not being removed and being dispersed by the humidifier. To avoid this entirely, you can use distilled water and remove the cartridge altogether.

Q2: What's sleep mode on the more expensive model?
A: The Sleep mode in the digital Air-O-Swiss humidifiers models functions like this. When you select it, the humidity automatically targets 50-65% the timer is set to 6 hours the preheat function kicks on, and the display dims. After six hours, it will shut off.

Q3: Does this have medicine cup, can you use essential oils with this product and does it purify?

A: Neither the AOS 7135 nor the AOS 7133 humidifier has a medicine cup. You should not put anything other than water in the tank as it could possible damage the diaphragm or internal components of the humidifier that nebulize the water. The demineralization cartridge traps hard water minerals like magnesium and calcium but does not "purify" the water as carbon/charcoal based filters do.

Air O Swiss Ultrasonic Humidifiers Reviews
Air-O-Swiss 7135 Ultrasonic Humidifier

This Air-O-Swiss ultrasonic humidifier uses high-frequency vibrations to turn the water into a micro-fine mist that creates a comfortable environment in any room. This model provides you a dual option with a water pre-heating function, when the mist exits the Air-O-Swiss 7135 at a pleasant 104° F, as well as a cool mist option where the water exits at ambient temperatures. Intelligent Temperature technology monitors the temperature and automatically adjusts the output when conditions change. These features give this ultrasonic humidifier a range of capabilities that make it truly unique.

What I like about the Air-O-Swiss 7135 Humidifier

The versatility of this unit makes it one of the best humidifiers available today. Though I generally do not suffer from sinus problems or dryness year round, the warm or cool mist options are great for any time of year. The capacity is large enough that I'm not constantly refilling it while I use it, and the weight and size make it ideal for any room in a house or apartment. The timer mode is an excellent additional feature, and I generally set it to run for the full nine hours before I go to sleep at night. That means that I don't have to worry about shutting it off in the mornings.

The digital conveniences and features of this model make it great for setting up things just the way I want them. The 7135 allows me to choose from warm mist or cool mist. It also lets me know, via indicator lights, when it needs to be cleaned (descaled) or refilled. The LCD displays gives me a real-time, relative humidity reading, and an auto and sleep feature allows me to set it and forget it for nearly any situation. So you have as much or as little control as you want, and best of all, each feature adds actual value to the humidifier and only enhances its benefits.

I tested this humidifier in my apartment. The air in my apartment is very dry which it makes it difficult to get a good night's sleep. During the winter months, I almost always wake up with my eyes stinging or with a nose and throat that feels like it's been through a blast furnace. I usually do not like to use a humidifier in my bedroom, because I am a very light sleeper, but the AOS 7135 was surprisingly quiet. The near silent operation of the fan did not keep me from falling asleep.

Air-O-Swiss set itself apart from other brands with the combination of three key features: the Hydro Stick, the Ultrasonic Technology, and the Demineralization Cartridge. The demineralization cartridge acts as a filter to prevent any mineral content found in your water from being dispersed into the air. This cartridge also helps keep the tank free of mineral build up that is often found in regular humidifier use.

What I do not like about the Air-O-Swiss 7135 Humidifier

There is not much to dislike about this humidifier. It is one of our best sellers and I did not have any problems with it during our product testing. If I had to choose one downside to this model, it would be that you have a cartridge to replace every three months and a Hydro Stick to replace each year. Be it that these two features help keep the Air-O-Swiss Ultrasonic running smoothly and free of bacteria and viruses, the cost to replace these is relatively minor.

In summary, the Air-O-Swiss 7135 combines simple operation with minimal energy use and unmatched versatility. The improved system helps keep the tank water clean, hygienic and minimizes fine dust that is sometimes left by other brands of ultrasonic humidifiers. The AOS 7135 is nearly silent, and its sleek design minimizes its footprint in your bedroom or living area.

9/5/12 My son has always had a nagging cough when the weather gets colder, that persists all winter long. The Vornado Humidifier  seems to have helped him feel better, and I don't hear nearly as many late night coughing fits. Thanks!
