Austin Allergy Machine Fan and Motor Assembly
The allergy machine is built on the same chasis as the Austin Air
HM-400. Austin Air has manufactured the HM-400 for over 12 years.
The simplistic, economical design of the unit makes it an
attractive, long term value. Air is drawn through the unit with a
powerful 1.5 h.p. PSC motor thru 15 lbs. of activated carbon and
zeolite and 60 sq. ft. of HEPA cloth. The unit only uses 100 watts
of power on its highest setting.

 Not as good as I had hoped

I had high expectations for this product and it didn't quite live up to them. I live in an old apartment building and the people above and below me smoke and it seeps through the walls into my apartment. It is really pungent and quite disgusting, especially in the bathroom. I had hoped that this little Austin Air Allergy Machine Junior would fix the problem and I could breathe a little easier, but I think there is just too much smoke for the little guy. Maybe I needed a bigger one, but thought that since the actual space is so small (just a bathroom) that it would be fine to get the small one. It does help a little bit, but not completely. I recommend getting the biggest one possible if your budget can afford it. But first I would recommend if you smoke, QUIT! It is SO disgusting and offensive! If you don't smoke and it is a friend or loved one who is the culprit, urge them to quit. I mean really, come on! WHY are people still smoking when we know how bad it is for us. Not to mention all the land that has to be farmed to grow the tobacco. I know there is a much more productive use for that land. Think of all the trees we could plant there to help eat up some of the carbon dioxide emissions. Geez. Its just so gross.
Anyway, this product is not the solution to all your problems, but it might help just a little, and for those of us who can't do anything but endure, it sure is nice to have a little help.

Sweet air at last

We purchased the Allergy jr. on the advise of a friend. We have lived in our house for five years and were never comfortable in the basement family room do to the limited air exchange with the rest of the house. Dehumidiferiers helped little. the only time we were comforable was a few weeks in the spring and again in the fall when we could open windows and use exhaust fans.
I was not sure the allergy jr. could do what she said it would do said but she was right on! thankyou allison
