What I like:
The Austin Air Pet Machine is a high performance air purifier with great features. The carbon blend HEPA filter is supported by a built-in pre-filter. The pre-filter extends the life of the HEPA filter. The HEPA filter has a 3 to 5 year life expectancy. The pre-filter also can be vacuumed from the outside. This helps to keep down costs on an air purifier that you are likely to run for long stretches of time.

The unit is sturdy and powerful. The Pet Machine is capable of producing 6 air changes per hour in a 12” by 12” room. It is constructed of 22 gauge steel which helps reduce off gassing.

What I do not like:
There are a few characteristics of the Austin Air Pet Machine that are different from other air purifiers we offer. The Pet Machine does not have any bells and whistles like an LCD display, a programmable timer, a remote control, or a filter change indicator.

The unit also is heavy—weighing in at 45 pounds. There are wheels or casters that allow you to move the machine around, but it is not a portable air purifier. The Austin is sturdy and built to filter air. If you are looking for sleek styling, try one of our other models.

In summary, the unit is an excellent product for people suffering from pet allergies. You will have to keep the pet off furniture, but the Austin Air Pet Machine is effective at eliminating pet odors and trapping pet dander. The consumer also will appreciate the five-year warranty offered by Austin Air on parts and labor.
