Child Snoring May Be Sign of Allergies
Reuters reports that an Austalian study found that, among five-year-olds, risk factors for snoring were very similar to those for allergic disorders. Such risk factors include cigarette smoke in the first year of life, asthma, and eczema. In adults, snoring is associated with obesity, but in children, snoring is tied to allergies. Nearly 60 percent of children who had experienced allergic rhinitis snored at least once a week.
If your young child is already snoring, it could be a sign of allergies.

My 2 year old was snoring very loudly, I thought she must have sleep apnea. The doctor verified that it was a dust mite allergy. I bought her a new pillow and covered it with an Allergy Armor pillow Ultra cover and put a vinyl mattress cover on her bed (gaurds against bed wetting too). Her snoring has subsided tremendously and no drugs are needed!
