Back in April of this year, we interviewed local allergist Dr. David Redding. Recently he was featured in a couple videos on the Weather Channel. In these, he goes over some in-home tips on how to reduce allergens. From using pillow covers and a high quality HVAC filter to vacuuming your mattress, Dr. Redding highlights areas throughout the home, hidden allergens that can reside in these places and how to reduce or eliminate them.

This weekend folks from around the metro area visited the Cobb Galleria to see some of the latest products and technologies from local and national companies offered at the Atlanta Home Show. AchooAllergy had a booth and showcased not only our allergy bedding but also Dyson vacuums, and our new Allergy Armor memory foam products.

The memory foam pillows as well as the new Dyson canister and Ball uprights were hot items. The Allergy Armor memory foam pillow is contoured to support the head and neck, and includes a free Ultra pillow cover. So not only is the foam dust mite resistant, the cover keeps out dust mites and other allergens and is treated with a permanent antimicrobial finish.

As one of the newest additions to Dyson's line of vacuums, the DC41 Animal features some of the best innovations that Dyson has to offer. Not only does it include staples like the Ball and Root Cyclone technology, but it features a new streamlined designed, lighter weight and self-adjusting head. So as you move from surface to surface, the powerhead adjusts to optimal height.

Overall, it was a great weekend! Achoo staffers got to interact with a wide variety of people and offer the local Atlanta community allergy relief products and information during this busy allergy season.

I've expressed the fact that I love Dyson vacuum cleaners on this blog before. My Dyson DC24 is going strong and I still get a thrill out of how much and how well it picks up.

But now I have a problem. I want the new Dyson DC35 Digital Slim Vacuum Cleaner, which we just started carrying. It's a cordless, rechargeable vacuum cleaner, but what makes it different – besides Dyson's Root Cyclone technology, which never loses suction – is its detachable long-reach wand. The vacuum also comes with a motorized brush tool for cleaning carpeted areas, floors, stairs, and more. Essentially, the Dyson Digital Slim is a handheld and a stick vacuum in one, with the option to use a long-reach tool.

This Digital Slim Dyson is absolutely perfect for quick clean-ups in hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. I love the thought of pulling this small vacuum out of the pantry to clean up the crumbs in the kitchen every night, or to take out to the car to get rid of all the dog hair and Cheerios.

Ohhhh, I really want one. Is it weird to want a vacuum cleaner for your birthday? I better send my husband this post. =)
