Cheap Way to Sanitize Floors - Soniclean Steam Mop A short while ago, we had to discontinue the popular Gruene steam mop. While people really liked the versatility of this steam cleaner, actually getting the product from the manufacturer was increasingly problematic. Fortunately, we realized we have a partner who has nearly the exact same product. So with a different name and color, the 2-in-1 steam cleaner is back in the Soniclean Steam Mop. How is this steam mop different than the Gruene and how can it help you maintain a healthier home through the upcoming flu season?

Soniclean 2-in-1 Steam CleanerWhen you look at the Soniclean steam mop, you'll notice a starting resemblance to the Gruene. From size and style to weight and performance, they are near identical. Why, you ask? Because it's the same machine! It's the same portable steamer that people have liked but at a lower price point and different color scheme.

Beyond the look, the Soniclean steam cleaner is a handy yet powerful addition to your cleaning tool box. Use the included floor pad to sanitize and deep clean your tile, linoleum, laminate and sealed hardwood floors quickly and efficiently. The low moisture content means the floor completely dries in a matter of minutes. With steam that gets as hot as 212° F. the Soniclean uses the simple and clean power of heat to kill germs and flu viruses while unlocking trapped odors and loosening stuck on grime. When you're finished with your smooth floors, you transition to above-the-floor cleaning in seconds.

Detach the body of the steam cleaner from the upright frame and attach your favorite cleaning brush to steam clean countertops, bathrooms, and even clothing. The Soniclean Two-in-One Steam Cleaner is very lightweight, only about eight lbs. (three lbs. when you're using it as a handheld) and includes a shoulder strap for use as a handheld steam cleaner. While using it, most people get eight to twelve minutes of use before having to refill the tank, and unlike cheaper steam cleaners (Lookin' at you, Shark!), as a steam mop the Soniclean only emits steam when you use the trigger on the handle.

Attachments include a garment hand tool, wire brush, three differently shaped/sized nylon brushes, a jet nozzle and more. Best of all, each of these attachments actually fits onto the back of the Soniclean. And, when it comes to the towel for the mop cleaning head, you're not pigeonholed into purchasing only clothes from the manufacturer. Any cloth that is sized right will work!

Steam cleaning is a convenient way to deep clean and kill germs without leaving behind the residues and odors that accompany traditional chemical cleaners. From the kitchen and bathroom to your basement and garage, the Soniclean steam cleaner is a more versatile way to clean. So, don't needlessly expose your family to an array of chemicals when you can clean just as efficiently with just heat and water.

Readers spoke, and we listened.

With the spring allergy season in full swing, we've been talking quite a bit about face/allergy masks. Though masks are a simple and easy solution to blocking allergens and dust, many Pink Roses Vogmaskpeople still refuse to wear them, so with the introduction of the new Vogmask we hope to remove aesthetics and "look" out of the equation.

Pronounced "v-o-g," these masks come in two styles of fabric/filtration and six patterns. For mild allergy sufferers or those wanting a natural cotton fabric, the organic cotton masks filter particle allergens and fit snugly on the face. For those with those with more moderate to mild allergies, the microfiber Vogmask traps 99% of particles 3 microns and larger.

This means most of the spring pollens and dust are effectively blocked. Despite record pollen levels across the South, you can still enjoy the outdoors without the sneezing, itching and watery eyes.

For a couple of years we have been bouncing around the idea of having a memory foam mattress pad. Many people really like memory foam, and dust mite allergy sufferers find it to be an ideal bedding material.

However, memory foam can be expensive, particularly if you are looking at beds. Alternatively, a memory foam mattress pad or topper can much more affordable and provide at least some of the characteristics that make this type of product so popular.

Allergy Armor Memory Foam Mattress PadOur new mattress toppers are two inches thick and come in Twin, Queen, and King sizes. We know that yellow might not be your favorite color (even for something that you cover with a fitted sheet, flat sheet and comforter, so we are currently in the process of sewing covers for them. Even if you purchase now, the soft stretchy covers will soon be available for purchase separately. And regardless of appearance, they are SOFT!

Like quality memory foam, they supple yet supportive. They conform to your body without creating pressure points, which can lead to soreness and stiffness after a night's sleep.

I have a two inch down mattress pad, and feathers are a CONSTANT source of irritation. To combat feathers poking me while I sleep, I've resorted to using two fitted sheets. Unfortunately, this extra layer of fabric being stretched across the bed actually stiffens the feel of the mattress. The Allergy Armor memory foam mattress topper is the perfect solution to that problem!

Memory foam is dust mite resistant, and a hypoallergenic style of bedding material. For many allergy sufferers, it's a great alternative to traditional bedding that makes a ready home for dust mites and dust mite waste.

Having tested one, I recommend you unpack it and allow it to air out for a day. After twenty-four hours, not only does any foam scent dissipate, but more importantly, the topper expands out to its full two-inch depth.

So as a less expensive alternative to a memory foam mattress or to down toppers, the Allergy Armor Mattress Topper is an excellent choice. Try it today, and don't forget to check out our Memory Foam Pillow.

Electrolux VacuumsFor decades, Electrolux has been a brand associated with caring for your carpet, and as technology and needs evolve, so too do the Electrolux vacuum cleaners available to you. We've recently added two new Electrolux models, each with unique features and suited for cleaning different areas of your home.

When it comes to living in an apartment, having kids or pets buzzing around the house, there are bound to be spills. For sucking up the Cheerios that Jr. spilled or dirt that Max just tracked in on the kitchen floor, it can sometimes be a hassle to pull out the full size vacuum. This is where the Electrolux Ergorapido comes in handy.

Electrolux ErgoRapidoThe Ergorapido is a compact stick vacuum that doubles as a handheld vac. While this lightweight sidekick isn't as powerful as a full size vac, it makes up for that with convenience and versatility. With no bags to replace, no cords to rewind, and about twenty minutes of run time, the Ergorapido is ideal for quick spills and tidying up when time is at a premium. It's also ideal for bachelors who, let's face it, generally aren't prone to bouts of deep cleaning.

Electrolux Nimble VacuumThe second new model in our Electrolux offering is the Electrolux Nimble. As a full size upright vacuum, the Nimble features HEPA filtration, cyclonic suction and maneuverability that blends the Dyson Ball with the Miele Swivel Neck designs.

A brushroll control switch allows you to quickly transition from carpet to smooth flooring, and a sealed system ensures no air leakage. So instead of kicking up allergens, you actually remove them. The included 3-in-1 Versa-tool is a unique add-on unlike most other vacuum attachments available. Designed for several purposes, this one tool makes cleaning carpeted steps or crevices easier. Like the ErgoRapido, the Nimble is well-priced to fit nearly any budget.

So for quick spills, smaller living spaces or as an additional tool in your cleaning arsenal, the ErgoRapido is a great fit. And for full size and more powerful cleaning throughout the home, the Nimble is a vacuum worth checking out.

Mulberry West BlanketAfter researching and in-home testing Mulberry West bedding, we have decided to add this to our allergy bedding line up. Not only do the products themselves fit the needs of our customers, but they are also quality blankets and comforters with unique features.

The key to Mulberry West comforters and blankets is that they use pure silk as their fill. A specific type of silk worm is fed only Mulberry leaves to produce one of the finest types of silk available today. That silk is then used as the fill with a 300 thread count, natural cotton shell to provide warmth, comfort, and luxury all in a hypoallergenic package.

Mulberry silk is naturally hypoallergenic and wicks away moisture, but most importantly for allergy sufferers, it naturally repels dust mites and bed bugs.

Both the blankets and comforters are available in three sizes, and because it is silk, the filling won't shift or bunch. The Mulberry West blankets also feature a satin trim for an added touch, and each is filled with 75 grams of silk. The comforters are filled with 150 grams of silk and naturally adjust to your body's temperature.

In all, Mulberry West bedding is a great fit in our allergy bedding line.

I've expressed the fact that I love Dyson vacuum cleaners on this blog before. My Dyson DC24 is going strong and I still get a thrill out of how much and how well it picks up.

But now I have a problem. I want the new Dyson DC35 Digital Slim Vacuum Cleaner, which we just started carrying. It's a cordless, rechargeable vacuum cleaner, but what makes it different – besides Dyson's Root Cyclone technology, which never loses suction – is its detachable long-reach wand. The vacuum also comes with a motorized brush tool for cleaning carpeted areas, floors, stairs, and more. Essentially, the Dyson Digital Slim is a handheld and a stick vacuum in one, with the option to use a long-reach tool.

This Digital Slim Dyson is absolutely perfect for quick clean-ups in hard-to-reach nooks and crannies. I love the thought of pulling this small vacuum out of the pantry to clean up the crumbs in the kitchen every night, or to take out to the car to get rid of all the dog hair and Cheerios.

Ohhhh, I really want one. Is it weird to want a vacuum cleaner for your birthday? I better send my husband this post. =)

In other Dyson news, we're also selling the latest Dyson Animal model, the Dyson DC41 Animal. With its improved, patented radial Root Cyclone technology and additional suction in the brushroll, this is Dyson's most powerful vacuum to date.

The Miele Capricorn is Purple! One of our most popular vacuum cleaners is changing its stripes! The Miele Capricorn has changed from silver to a stunning passion purple color with a pearl finish.

It is hard to argue with our belief that the Miele Capricorn is the best canister vacuum cleaner on the market. This is the top of the line, the cream of the crop, the Mercedes of vacuum cleaners. For the allergy sufferer who wants the absolute best vacuum with every luxury feature imaginable, the Miele Capricorn captures 99.99% of all household allergens. Also, the active HEPA filter and sealed system help improve your indoor air quality.

The Miele Capricorn comes with your choice of either the Miele SEB 236 powerbrush with a lamp or the smaller and lighter Miele SEB 217-3 powerbrush. It also comes standard with the very best parquet or hard floor tool in the Miele floor care series.

Here are some quick descriptions of the included attachments:

  • The SEB 236 Powerbrush is a carpet tool with a 13 3/8" wide brush roll and 5 height adjustments for a variety of carpet densities. It is the most popular choice when purchasing a Miele Capricorn. This carpet tool has a swivel-neck for maneuverability, an integrated light, an all-around bumper strip to protect your furniture, and an automatic shut-off when in the parked position. Recommended for deep cleaning medium and thick carpeting.

  • The SEB 217-3 Powerbrush is a powerbrush with a 10" wide brush roll with floating head and swivel-neck design. It is recommended for deep cleaning and restoring of crushed carpet nap on low- to medium-pile carpets with moderate densities.

  • The SBB 300-3 Parquet Floor Tool has a mixture of polyamide and natural hair that ensures a gentle cushion for this floor brush. The design makes sure that tile, wood, and other smooth surfaces are cleaned thoroughly with extreme care. It has a 90 degree rotation and is exceptionally agile at cleaning around obstacles and in tight places.
The new color for the Miele vacuum is exciting, but the strong suction and long lifespan make this vacuum a great investment for anyone looking for a quality vacuum cleaner.
