Yoga, Controlled Breathing & Asthma

Asthma relief can be achieved in non-medicinal ways, such as yoga and meditation. Today, I am going to talk about a simple pose and a couple breathing techniques that can help open your airways, regulate your breathing and hopefully help you better manage asthma.

**NOTE** Please do not use these poses and techniques to replace medication. Please do not do these poses and techniques if asthma symptoms are provoked.

Mountain Pose – Stand tall, with feet together and hands at your side. Roll your shoulders back to broaden your chest and straighten posture. Tuck in hips and buttocks, and start to focus on your breath as you inhale and exhale.
