Ebac CD30 Dehumidifier

The Ebac CD30 is a stripped down, high capacity, portable dehumidifier that is at home in a hostile industrial or marine environment. It is ideal for either permanent installation at remote pump stations, pipe galleries, electronic and mechanical equipment areas, or for quick transport between job sites and problem areas.

What I like about the Ebac CD30:

This is really a no frills dehumidifier. Probably, there are two features that I really like about this unit. The first feature is the extremely low profile and rectangular shape. This shape is perfect for a low crawlspace. The second thing I like is the built in metal handles. Because it weighs only 50 pounds, you can really carry this unit and set it down in the exact place that you want it.

The upgraded model of this unit, the CD30E, is a little bit more versatile. This unit comes with a a power "On" indicator, an Hours Run Meter, a wall bracket, and an Alarm Humidistat. The accessory box does make the CD30E a few inches wider than its companion model.

What I do not like about the Ebac CD30:

Because this unit just comes with the basic gravity drain, you are going to have to do some work on your own to port the water from this unit.  There is a little drain at the bottom back of the unit.  You can set the unit on a pallet, cinder block, or small custom shelf.  By using gravity, you can sit the unit to drain into an existing basement drain.  To transport the water, you will have to buy your own length of hose and make sure it attaches to the small gravity drain.  Another challenge is that this unit does not come with a condensate pump like many of the Ebac dehumidifiers.
