desiccant dehumidifiers are the perfect solution for low temperature environments where excess
humidity is a concern. With three models, you can select the desiccant dehumidifier that will best meet
your needs. Each comes with features like an hours run meter and all steel construction, and all can be
easily ducted for installation in your basement, crawlspace or any area where excess humidity is a problem
during low and even freezing temperatures.
Like other desiccant dehumidifiers, the Ebac desiccant dehumidifiers do not use a refrigerant to cool the air and
condense the moisture for extraction. Instead the air passes over a slowly rotating wheel silica gel that adsorbs (not absorbs) the moisture. The
air, warmed, then leaves the unit, free of excess moisture. As this wheel of silica and moisture continues to slowly rotate, a small portion
of the wheel passes through a regeneration segment where extremely warm air is passed back through the gel and any moisture trapped inside
is collected by this hot air and exhausted to an area outside of the area you are drying.
Desiccant dehumidifiers do exceedingly well in low temperatures, situations where the dew point is very low or in instances where
deep drying and extremely low humidity is required. Though simple, desiccant dehumidifiers are extremely effective in conditions where
refrigerant style dehumidifiers fail.
*Please Note that for effective use, these units need to be ducted. The silica gel wheel is
washable to maintain optimum performance.
