Miele Cat & Dog Vacuum Cleaner Customer Q & A

Q1: I have a dog and cat who both shed profusely. My house is about 2/3 hardwood, 1/3 wall to wall carpet and an area rug. Does an upright make sense or should I be thinking about a canister? Thanks!

A: In your sitation, either will probably do the trick. If you are currently using an upright and are happy with the results, I would probably stick with it. If you go with the Miele though, I would add on either the standard Twister Parquet Tool or the Twister XL for the smooth flooring. Though the direction suction works well enough on smooth floors, either of those two attachments fit onto the wand of the Miele upright, and both are slim tools with a low profile which make it easier to clean the smooth part of your flooring. Additionally, both tools are very lightweight, so it's less weight you are pushing around when you clean the smooth floors, rather than pushing the entire vacuum. If you go with a canister, the Cat & Dog upright is a good choice since, like the upright, it comes with the Active AirClean filter and the STB-101 but the carpet tool is one of the best, the SBB 228. It and the SEB 236 are Miele's best carpet cleaning brushes for canisters, equal in cleaning ability and only differ by a couple features. Hope that helps!
