Haier CPRB08XCJ Portable Air Conditioner
The Haier CPRB08XCJ portable air conditioner is a lightweight, compact unit ideal for small to medium sized rooms. Unlike other portable
air conditioners, this Haier 8000 BTU air conditioner exhausts nearly all the moisture extracted through the outtake hose. So there is no messy condensate
bucket to drain! As a single hose portable air conditioner, the Haier CPRB08XCJ uses less energy than many other models and won't take up much
space an any room. Digital controls add convenience, and the new R-410A refrigerant is eco-friendly. After using this models in a 15' x 12'
test space, here is what we liked and what we found lacking in this Haier portable air conditioner.
What I liked about the Haier CPRB08XCJ
Right off the bat, what we noticed about this particular model was the size. As one of the most compact portable air conditioners
we offer, the Haier CPRB08XCJ also has free rolling casters. The weight and size makes this model much more attractive for those who may have difficulty
moving or installing the larger, heavier units.
Unlike other portable air conditioner models, this Haier does have three separate modes. It has a specific and separate cooling,
dehumidifying and fan modes. This provides a little more versatility in that if you want to dehumidify, you can without drastically cooling
the room where this unit operates.
The auto evaporation feature on this model is more comprehensive than many other portable air conditioners. The Haier CPRB08XCJ
does have an internal condensate tank to collect moisture, but exhuast the vast majority of the collected the water through
the exhaust hose.
The digital features are similar to that of larger models. It has three speeds, three functions, a remote, 24 hour timer and a digital thermostat.
All of these work to make the unit a well rounded and easy to operate portable air conditioner.
Lastly, the CPRB08XCJ uses R-410A refrigerant instead of the older R-22. This meets the new environmental standards set for coolants in home appliances.
In addition to this, this Haier model meets the European Union's RoHS directive. This is a restriction that means this product is free of Lead, Mercury,
and other heavy metal substances that often cause health problems and have a negative impact on the environment.
What I did not like about the Haier CPRB08XCJ
Likely the largest drawback to some will be this air conditioner's strength to others. The Haier CPRB08XCJ is compact. So while this is
ideal for some, the unit may not provide as much cooling power as larger, more powerful models.
While the CPRB08XCJ uses less electricity than larger portable air conditioners, it is not quite as efficient. With an EER of 8.5, the Haier
CPRB08XCJ doesn't deliver quite as much cooling power in relation to energy consumed. Though for most people, the savings less electric usage will likely offset
less energy efficiency.
In all, the Haier CPRB08XCJ is one of the most compact cooling units we offer. As a truly portable air conditioner, it is an ideal solution for cooling
small to medium sized rooms where central air or window units are not an option. Perfectly suited for bedrooms, computer server rooms or dorms rooms, this
versatile air conditioner can deliver 8,000 BTU's of cooling power quickly and conveniently.
