Hartell Dehumidifier Condensate Pump with Tubing

Hartell Dehumidifier/HVAC Condensate Pumps are in the USAWithout this dehumidifier condensate pump, dehumidifiers can be a maintenance pain, especially if you are unable to port the dehumidifier and use a gravity fed hose to empty the dehumidifier reservoir.  Dehumidifiers stop working if the reservoir fills up.  Using this condensate pump will enable your dehumidifier to run maintenance free, you will no longer have to empty a heavy reservoir filled with water.  This dehumidifier condensate pump can be used with any room or crawlspace/basement dehumidifier we offer and comes standard with a 20 ft. tube.

This pump uses a double splash-protected motor with more starting torque than a standard motor.  An innovative cam-action switch/float assembly allows this pump to "drink" nearly twice the standard volume without increasing outside dimensions.  An integral full float check valve virtually eliminates blocked pump discharge.

    Very quiet pump
This product is very good. It runs only when it's reservoir is full and it's very quiet. It works very well with a dehumidfier.

    Excellent little pump!
I received the pump in a timely manner, unpacked it, attached the tubing and routed to the elevated drain. Problem solved. No more worrying about going away and the dehumidifier shutting off due to being full. Often came home to high humidity condition in basement because dehumidifier had shut off while we were away. No More! Pump is efficient, quiet, and a good value. Buy without hesitation.

This is a great little pump for getting the condensate out of the dehumidifier. It came with everything need to install and the install went very easy. I would definitely get another one if I needed it.

    Condensate Pump Reviews
    Dehumidifier Condensate Pump with Tubing

Emptying a reservoir is a hassle, and at times, gravity simply isn't on your side. In instances like these, a dehumidifier condensate pump can be a handy solution to your problem. The Hartell condensate pump works well with most room, basement or crawlspace dehumidifiers and can push water out of the space you are drying. With the ability to pump water both horizontally and vertically, this pump adds convenience to keeping any space dry. After installing one in my crawlspace, this how the pump fared.

What I liked about the Dehumidifier Condensate Pump

Setup was really simple. Though there are extra wires to hardwire the pump, most people will find it easiest to simply run the plug to an outlet. From there I used the short piece of supplied drain hose with my dehumidifier and ran it from the dehumidifier to the open port in the top of the condensate pump. Lastly, I stretched the twenty or so feet of drain line that came with the pump to the wall of my crawlspace and through a small hole I drilled through the wooden door. Setup took all of about 20 minutes, including drilling the hole.

A condensate pump simplifies the drying process immeasurably. Whether used in a basement or crawlspace, having to empty a water reservoir several times a day during the humid part of the year simply isn't feasible for most of us. This takes the hassle out of the process.

Not only does this pump push water horizontally, but it can also push vertically. If you need it push water vertically, keep in mind you lose some of your horizontal range (20 feet) as you increase the elevation in which your pushing water.

It only runs periodically. Since the small reservoir in the pump holds about three quarts, most of the time it will only kick on anywhere from once or twice and hour to once or twice every several hours. This will vary depending on the amount of moisture you are extracting with the dehumidifier, but in general, it runs infrequently.

Unlike most of the dehumidifiers you will find, the Hartell dehumidifier condensate pump is made here in the USA. You may even recognize this pump as it is the same or very similar to the style of pump that HVAC professionals use to drain condensate from air conditioners.

Lastly, the warranty is a full three years. The only reason I note this is because some of the cheaper dehumidifiers have warranties that are shorter.

What I did not like about the Dehumidifier Condensate Pump

The cord length may be a little short for some, but an indoor/outdoor extension cord solves that problem for most. It is also worth noting that in many instances you may have to elevate your dehumidifier. The condensate should run down from the dehumidifier into the top opening, so if you have a unit that drains from the bottom, you will have to elevate it to get the proper drop into the pump. Lastly, it can be a bit noisy while it does run, but in reality, it takes only 10-15 seconds for it to empty the reservoir.

Inexpensive, easy to set up, and perfect for removing water, the Hartell condensate is a handy accessory to use with most dehumidifiers. It provides convenience, uses little power, and is American made. If gravity is working against you, you don't have a floor drain handy, or you simply want to eliminate the task of emptying heavy water buckets, this condensate pump is just what you're looking for.

    Product Questions

If the condensate pump were to stop working for any reason, and the dehumidifier is still operable, how does the dehumidifier "know" to turn off? If the dehumidifier doesn't turn off, would not the discharge water back up into the unit and destroy it? I have just purchased a Frigidaire FAD7033r1 70 pint dehumidifier.

I would like a dehumidifier to self vent the water - to do this without a pump I would need to put it on a shelf near the ceiling of the basement rather then the floor - will the unit be as efficient off the floor and if the hose runs to the outside yard - should I worry about it freezing in winter admittedly a season when it may not go on much?

I see the tubing it comes with is 20 ft long. I need tubing around 60-70 ft long. Is this an option and would the pump be able to handle that distance? Thanks Jim
