What is Hypodown? The short
answer is that Hypodown is an 80% / 20% mix of fine Hungarian
goose down and naturally hypoallergenic Syriaca
clusters. The long answer is that the makers of Hypodown search for goose
down that is the fluffiest and cleanest in the world.
Then, they grow their own Syriaca plants, collect the
finest pods, capture large Syriaca clusters, and
transfer them to their patented Hypodown blender. It
uses bursts of air to combine the Syriaca clusters and
the goose down into a material so intimate it cannot be
separated. An airy cloud-soft combination of two natural
fibers to give you a tranquil, restful night's sleep.
|
| Hypodown is hypoallergenic
Goose down can cause allergic reactions for some people.
However, it is not the down itself you are allergic to,
but remaining particles of dust and dirt that are inside
the down. Hypodown offers the cleanest down available tested by allergy doctors. Allergy doctors have found that people who are allergic to down can use Hypodown with no allergic reactions. Hypodown comforters and pillows are
guaranteed to be reaction free for 10 years!
|
| Innovative and natural Syriaca
clusters Syriaca clusters are what gives Hypodown
its unique properties. The hollow fibers inside the Syriaca clusters aid in moisture transfer, wicking
moisture away from your body 30% faster than just down
alone. And, Syriaca clusters are durable and warm. They
also help to trap and stabilize the components in down
which can cause allergic reactions.
Syriaca clusters come from the plant commonly known as
milkweed, naturally cultivated on Nebraska farms. You
may have seen their fluffy, silky clusters like
parachutes through the autumn sky. Light-weight, buoyant,
and moisture resistant, Syriaca clusters were also used
in life jackets in World War II.

Reviewed by: Always Cold in Wisconsin from Wisconsin

I researched Alpaca filled comforters allergy free and down filled comforters on and off for about 1 year before making my purchase. My 25 year old down filled comforter was on its last legs.
After giving it a lot of thought, I purchased the Havester Hypodown Comforter when Achoo Allergy had a 20% off bedding sale. Although I suffer from allergies all year, my main concern was warmth, as we live in Wisconsin very cold winters. I had used an allergy free cover on my old comforter in addition to a duvet cover comforter which helped a great deal to suppress allergic reaction to the down and dust mites.
I purchased the arctic fill in the Harvester Hypodown Comforter. This comforter is wonderful, light yet very warm and I no longer have to use an allergy barrier cover under the duvet cover.
This comforter is very well made of high quality materials and I would challenge anyone to find a down comforter this nice at twice the price. It has met my high expectations in every way. If you are looking for warmth, an allergy free down comforter, and high quality all at a great price from Achoo Allergy, you won't be disappointed with this comforter.

I don't have allergies, but after becoming aware of all the toxins used in bedding I went in search of chemical-free products for my home. Many of the comforters I found were made of wool or other materials, but I just didn't want to give up the softness and heavenly feel that only down has. Luckily, the hypodown keeps away dust and comes encased in unbleached and chemical-free cotton. I can sleep in my fluffy piece of heaven without worry!

Harvester Hypodown Comforter
Quality bedding has always been very important to me. I have heirloom linens and blankets passed down to me from my great grandmother. We keep these precious family
treasures in a cedar chest specifically designed to preserve them, and the Harvester Hypodown Comforter is certainly worth treasuring.
Chemical-free and unbleached fabrics are now at the top of the consumer's list when purchasing bedding. Not only do these natural fabrics benefit those who have
multi-chemical sensitivity, but they are healthy for the environment as well. I have purchased natural bedding in the past and have found it to be a little gritty,
almost scratchy against my skin, but it looks like (and feels like) new technology is producing much higher quality natural bedding these days. I love how I can
curl up with the dreamy softness of the Harvester Hypodown Comforter while doing my part to maintain balance with the environment.
What I like about the Harvester Hypodown Comforter:
- Luxurious heirloom quality
- Custom tailored weight and fill power
- Baffled, not sewn, for consistent fullness
- Hypoallergenic
- Eco-Friendly
What I do not like about the Harvester Hypodown Comforter:
- I wish it were less expensive (like everything else in life), but it's worth every penny.

1. Size
First, choose your bed size. The Harvester is available in 5 sizes:
Twin, Full, Queen, King, and Super King which is extra roomy.
Dimensions are shown below.
2. Fill power
Fill power is the space that one ounce of down occupies in cubic
inches.
Hypodown 800 is the most luxurious option, the quality you might
find in a fine hotel. The 800 fill power contains 95% goose down.
These are superb quality comforters.
Hypodown 700 is the most popular choice and above the quality found
in many department stores. The down cluster content is 85% and the
fill power is excellent. These are excellent quality comforters.
3. Weight
The Harvester is available in three weights: Arctic, Classic, and
Southern. A queen size Arctic weight contains 22 oz. more down than
a queen size Southern weight, so you'll want to make sure that you
choose the comforter that is the right level of warmth for you.
If you are generally hot while you sleep, you'll want a lightweight
duvet: consider the southern weight in fill power 700.
If you are usually comfortable at night and live in a temperate and
mild climate, you may be interested in mid-range choice: consider
the Southern weight in fill power 800 or the Classic in fill power
700.
If you are most often cold at night, you'll want a toasty warm
comforter: consider a Classic weight in fill power 800, or an Arctic
weight in fill power 700 or 800.

9/10/12 Allergy Armor Organic Bedding works just as good as the Ultra, but I feel good knowing my face is rested on all natural organic cotton. Actually, I would recommend a cover regardless of allergies, just so I know I am not breathing pillow stuffing. More Testimonials
