What is Hypodown? The short
answer: Hypodown is an 80%/20% mix of fine Hungarian
goose down and naturally hypoallergenic Syriaca
clusters.
The long answer: The makers of Hypodown search for goose
down that is the fluffiest and cleanest in the world.
Then, they grow their own Syriaca plants, collect the
finest pods, capture large Syriaca clusters, and
transfer them to their patented Hypodown blender. It
uses burst of air to combine the Syriaca clusters and
the goose down into a material so intimate it cannot be
separated. An airy cloud-soft combination of two natural
fibers to give you a tranquil, restful night's sleep.
|
| Hypodown is hypoallergenic
Goose down can cause allergic reactions for some people.
However, it is not the down itself you are allergic to,
but remaining particles of dust and dirt that are inside
the down. Hypodown offers the cleanest down available,
tested by allergy doctors in the Unites States, Hungary,
and Germany. Each test concludes that people who are
allergic to down can use Hypodown with no allergic
reactions. Hypodown comforters and pillows are
guaranteed to be reaction free for 10 years!
|
| Innovative and natural Syriaca
clusters Syriaca clusters are what gives Hypodown
it's unique properties. The hollow fibers inside the
Syriaca clusters aid in moisture transfer, wicking
moisture away from your body 30% faster than just down
alone. And, Syriaca clusters are durable and warm. They
also help to trap and stabilize the components in down
which can cause allergic reactions.
Syriaca clusters come from the plant commonly known as
milkweed, naturally cultivated on Nebraska farms. You
may have seen their fluffy, silky clusters like
parachutes through autumn sky. Light-weight, buoyant,
and moisture resistant, Syriaca clusters were also used
in life jackets in World War II.

    Maximum Comfort
Reviewed by: Pat from Ft. Worth from Ft. Worth, Tx

I have looked for a quality comforter for some time. I travel and stay at some upscale hotels which have down bedding. After trying to buy them from a hotel with no luck, I took to the web and did some research. I chose this brand for the allergy qualities and sheer comfort. The hex design never wads up. My wife and I have never slept so well. Well worth the money.

    Awesome Comforter

I've had my Pearl Crescent hypodown comforter for a few weeks now and I love it. It's plenty warm but not "hot" and looks and feels great. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Excellent Quality
Reviewed by: an allergy sufferer from San Jose, California

We received the comforter 2 days ago and are very pleased. We ordered the super king, because our duvet is between the regular king and super king size. Even though the comforter is large, it looks really nice in the duvet. It is made extremely well. The stitching and trim are very nice. We ordered the 800 fill, southern weight, because we live in California. It wasn't very puffy looking, but we expected that (but you still expect dwon to look puffy). After two nights sleeping with it on the bed, we know that we ordered the right weight. Anything heavier, and we would be much too warm. Our room is warm anyway, because it is the top floor of a 3-story townhome. I can't say anything about the hypoallergenic quality, except I haven't noticed any reactions yet. I am very pleased with my hypodown comforter. I should also say that this was my first order with Achoo Allergy and I was very happy with the timely notification of shipping (with tracking information - it was delivered exactly as indicated) and the quick receipt of the product.

Pearl Crescent Hypodown Comforter
Quality bedding has always been very important to me. I have heirloom linens and blankets passed to me from my great grandmother that have been held for years in a
cedar chest specifically created to preserve these precious family treasures. I own and love the Empress Hypodown Comforter and wanted to share my adoration with
my family. As a wedding gift, I sent an arctic weight Pearl Crescent Hypodown Comforter to my brother and sister-in-law in Boston.
As the comforter they use daily, they have expressed how it really kept them cozy during the freezing New England winter last year. They now turn the heat down at
night knowing they can rely on the Pearl Crescent Hypodown Comforter to keep them comfortable and warm all night long. When they received the comforter, they
decided to completely re-do the bedroom with allergy relief bedding. They are sleeping on hypoallergenic Hypodown Wool pillows and allergy relief mattress and
pillow covers. This bedding combined has allowed them to breathe better at night and wake up without a stuffy nose.
What I like about the Pearl Crescent Hypodown Comforter
- Luxurious heirloom quality
- Custom tailored weight and fill power
- Baffled, not sewn for consistent fullness
- Hypoallergenic
- Aesthetic honeycomb baffling
What I don’t like about Pearl Crescent Hypodown Comforter
- I wish it were cheaper, but the quality is well worth the price.

1. Size
First, choose your bed size. The Pearl Crescent Hypodown Comforter is available in
4 sizes:
Twin, Queen, King, and Super King. Dimensions are shown below.
2. Fill power
Fill power is the space that one ounce of down occupies in cubic
inches.
Hypodown 800 is the most luxurious option, the quality you might
find in a fine hotel. The 800 fill power contains 95% goose down.
These are superb quality comforters.
Hypodown 700 is the most popular choice and above the quality found
in many department stores. The down cluster content is 85% and the
fill power is excellent. These are excellent quality comforters.
3. Weight
The Pearl Crescent Hypodown Comforter is available in three weights: Arctic, Classic, and
Southern. A queen size Arctic weight contains 22 oz. more down than
a queen size Southern weight, so you'll want to make sure that you
choose the comforter that is the right level of warmth for you.
If you are generally hot while you sleep, you'll want a lightweight
comforter: consider the southern weight in fill power 700.
If you are usually comfortable at night and live in a temperate and
mild climate, you may be interested in mid-range choice: consider
the Southern weight in fill power 800, or the Classic in fill power
700.
If you are most often cold at night, you'll want a toasty warm
comforter: consider a Classic weight in fill power 800, or an Arctic
weight in fill power 700 or 800.
