IQ air purifiers, like the IQAir HealthPro Plus are extremely quiet because of their ultra modern design. IQAir air purifiers feature unique double-walled housing to reduce sound transmission and eight shock absorbers to reduce vibration. IQAir follows the ISO 3744 standard for measuring the decibels. Each unit has a variable fan with 6 speed settings. Below lists the decibel levels for each speed on all IQAir air cleaners:

Speed 1 - 43.6
Speed 2 - 51.0
Speed 3 - 58.0
Speed 4 - 61.9
Speed 5 - 64.6
Speed 6 - 71.9

How much energy do the IQAir Air Purifiers use?

Even though they are powerful machines, each model is extremely energy efficient. IQ Air air purifiers achieve outstanding energy efficiency by including a very efficient fan and an advanced fan control set-up in every unit. As a result, it costs only pennies a day to run them.

What is the difference between a standard HEPA filter and the IQ HyperHEPA filter?

All HEPA filters are required filtration of 0.3 microns and larger, but 90% of all particles are smaller than 0.3 microns in size. The HyperHEPA filters down to 0.003 microns and can remove 100 times more allergens than regular air cleaners.

What particles do the IQAir Air Purifiers remove?

Each IQAir air purifier filters out harmful airborne allergens like mold spores, pollen, animal dander, dust, and tobacco smoke from your indoor air. Additionally, you can upgrade many of the IQAir air purifier models to include protection against gaseous chemicals, fumes, odors, and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) with additional filters. So regardless of your filtration needs, there is an IQAir to meet them.

How many filters do the IQAir HealthPro series air purifiers use?

IQAir FiltersBoth the IQAir HealthPro and the HealthPro Compact include a HyperHEPA filter which absorbs 99.97% of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns and a PreMax Pre-Filter. The IQAir HealthPro also has an optional V5 filter for gaseous chemical and odor control. The IQAir HealthPro Plus comes standard with the IQAir patented HyperHEPA filtration, PreMax pre-filter, and a V-5 Cell Gas and Odor filter.

How many filters do the IQAir GC & GCX series air purifiers use?

IQAir Multi Gas FiltersIQAir offers several GC and GCX air purifiers to choose from, including the IQAir GC VOC, IQAir GC Multi-Gas, IQAir GC Chemisorber, IQAir GC AM, IQAir GCX VOC, IQAir GCX Multi-Gas, IQAir GCX Chemisorber, and the IQAir GCX AM. Each IQAir GC Series air purifier focuses on specific filtration needs and contains three stages of air filtration. The IQAir MultiGas GC Series air purifiers include one HEPA-type pre-filter, four speicalized gas cartridges and four post-filter sleeves to effectively capture airborne pollutants.

How do I know when to change the filters?

Each unit comes equipped with a digital monitor that lets you know when it is time to replace the filters. The topside control panel has lights labeled F1, F2, and F3. Green light indicates the filters are good. Once the light turns orange, this is an indication that the filter is down to 20% of its effective life. A red light indicates it is time to replace the filter NOW. The pre-filter in all the types of units need to be changed every six to eighteen months. As a general guideline for all IQAir HealthPro Series Air Purifiers, you will need to change the HEPA filter every two to four years and the V-5 Filter every one to two years for maximum efficiency. For IQAir GC Multi Gas Series Air Purifiers you will need to change the particle post-filter sleeves every two to three years, and media cartridges every two years. The IQAir Cleanroom H13 has a HEPA filter that will need to be changed every one to two years, and the IQAir Dental Series has a post filter and Gas Phase filter that should be replaced every one to three years. With all models it's good to keep in mind that replacement times will vary depending on use and the type of environment where these machines are running. Inactivity will not reduce the effectiveness of a HEPA or pre-filter but carbon filters, like the V-5 filter will continue to adsorb chemicals, odors and gases even while the unit is not in use.

How do I change the filters in the IQAir Air Purifiers?

Changing the filters for any IQAir unit is simple. Every IQAir purifier features a revolutionary modular tower design which snaps open to allow easy access to all filters in a matter of seconds. Disconnect the system from the power supply before opening the unit. Then simply un-snap the unit, pull out the dirty filter, replace with a clean one, and snap back into place. Replacing a filter has never been easier!

How many filters are included in the IQAir Commercial grade air purifiers?

IQAir Commercial FiltersIQAir features two commercial grade air purifiers called the IQAir Dental Pro and the IQAir Cleanroom H13. The IQAir Cleanroom H13 includes a 32 sq. ft. mini-pleat fine dust pre-filter and a 44 sq. ft. HEPA filter. The IQAir Dental Series air purifiers contain one HEPA-style pre-filter, two Mercury Cartridges, two Multi Gas Cartridges, and four post-filter sleeves.

What is the difference between an IQAir GC and GCX air purifier?

Both models are nearly identical, but the main difference between comparable GC and GCX models is the amount of filter media. GCX units, overall, contain more filter media than comparble GC models and are best used in commerical or industrial filtration settings. This means a few things. First, GCX models can run longer on the same set of filters, so replacement is less frequent. GCX models also have a slightly higher CFM since they have to push the air through more filter material and overall, are taller (to accomodate larger filter canisters). With this larger size comes a slightly higher price, but aside from one model being larger than the other, they are very similar machines.

Are IQAir Purifiers effective for individuals with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity?

Absolutely! The IQAir MultiGas GC air purifier offers excellent, well-rounded protection for individuals suffering from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. Specialized carbon, a HEPA pre-filter, and electrostatically charged post-filter sleeve traps the widest range of particles and oxidizes chemicals in the industry.

Does my air purifier come with casters?

The HealthPro Series, GC Series, and Dental Series all include casters for easy mobility.

What type of warranty comes with the IQAir Air Purifiers?

Depending on the model you choose, IQAir units are covered by a one, two, or five year warranty. IQAir warranties provide protection against defects in material or workmanship, but do not cover misuse or abuse of the unit.
