The 3M 8233 and 8293 are lightweight and durable masks that feature maximum HEPA filter efficiency
in a maintenance-free design. A cool ventilation valve reduces
moisture and heat build-up which makes breathing easier.
A respirator improves performance and these masks contain no components made from
natural rubber latex. Also featuring a comfortable face seal,
adjustable straps, and lightweight construction. Dispose after
150 hours of use. One size fits all.
Both masks are NIOSH approved and offer 99.97% filtration particles down to 0.3 microns. The 3M 8293 is very similar
to the popular 3M 8233 with one major exception. The 3M 8293 will filter oil-based particles while the 8233
only will filter non-oil
based particles. The 3M 8293 meets NIOSH P100 requirements and the 3M 8233 meets NIOSH N100 requirements. Both exceed CDC recommended
filtrations levels to protect against the spread of bacteria and influenza viruses.

 Excellent Product

I am highly allergic to mold. My worksite recently went without AC for three weeks during very hot and humid conditions. When the AC came back on, I started getting sick and the discovered mold in the building which they are in the process of cleaning up. This mask makes it possible for me to breathe and function at my job.

 Easy to use and wear

This mask is much easier to use than the one with the big pink pads. I wore this mask to use the power blower on dusty, dirty exterior porches and patios. I forgot I had it on! I had a small mark on my cheek from the mask, but I think it happened when I scratched myself when I removed it I would recommend it for those with serious dust and pollen alleries.

Best Mask for Allergies

I purchased a mask from a different store and wasn't thrilled with the fit. I suffer from asthma needed something that would help with the dust trigger.
This mask did an outstanding job secure fit and still allows comfort. I highly recommend this mask for others.

3M 8233 & 8293 Masks
The 3M 8293 Mask is a very effective mask. I used it while I was
sanding the remains of old wallpaper off of my walls, and it allowed me to breathe easily without worrying about all of the dust I
was creating. Afterwards, I used it while painting my hallway doors.
What I like about the 3M 8233 Mask
- Very effective, I feel like it really helped keep dust out as well as greatly lessen odors
- Breathable
- Inexpensive
- Easy to adjust
What I did not like about the 3M 8233 Mask
- Like many masks or respirators, it did get a little warm to wear after some time
- A little uncomfortable, though the sizing is adjustable
In summary, I give the 3M 8293 Mask 4 out of 5 stars. It really did
help my breathing while sanding and painting. It was a cheap and quick way to get the filtration I needed without spending
a lot of time or money. The 8233 is a very comparable mask that offers nearly identical filtration. The only exception is that while the
8293 will filter oil based contaminants, the 8233 will not. If you're working with particles or aerosols that may contain an
oil base, it is best to opt for the 8293. For general use against dust, pollen, and the microbes, like the flu virus, the 8233 is
a slightly less expensive but just as efficient option. Both are quality dust and allergy masks at discount prices.
