Miele S2 Vacuum Cleaner Carpet Attachments

Though the Miele S2 vacuum cleaners are styled differently, each vacuum is capable of using one or more carpet cleaning tools. On the most basic level, each of four S2 canister vacuums will work with the Miele STB 205-3 turbobrush. The STB 205-3 comes standard with the Miele Capri and is optional for each of the other three vacuums. This air driven tool works best on low to medium pile carpet.

For units with electric hoses and wands, you have more possibilities. The Miele Titan and Miele Delphi have the electrically driven SEB 217-3 powerbrush. The SEB 217-3 is perfect for cleaning medium and even high pile carpet of average density. It has a 10.5" cleaning path and has an independent motor, but it lacks height adjustment capability.

For very thick carpet the Titan and Delphi can both be used with either the SEB 228 or the Miele SEB 236. These attachments are well-suited for any style of carpet. These top-of-the-line carpet tools cut a 14" cleaning path, have an adjustable height pedal, and can be "parked" in an upright position. The SEB 236 also features a LED lamp to illuminate your cleaning area and a rubber bumper strip to help protect your furniture. Both of these large powerbrushes have independent motors driving them and represent the best options for cleaning carpet with a Miele canister vacuum.

All of the Miele carpet cleaning brushes can be easily disassembled to remove anything that may be tangled in the brush roll. The three powerbrushes have an independent motor that can be switched off. This disengages the brush roll and allows you to clean smooth flooring with straight suction.

Miele S2 Vacuum Cleaner Hard Floor Tools

With the introduction of the Miele S2 canister vacuum cleaner line, Miele produced an entry level Miele that would fit nearly anyone's budget. As part of reducing costs, some of the floor tools changed. You'll notice the biggest difference in the two smooth floor tool options.

The Titan and Capri come standard with the SBB-3 parquet floor tool. Similar to the SBB 235-3, this tool features two small wheels and is narrow enough to fit into those hard to reach spaces. Bristles gently loosen debris while the suction removes it. The second S2 specific smooth floor tool is the SBB 350-3. Again, this tool is similar to the SBD 450-3 with the main difference being it is lighter and has a smaller profile. This combination floor tool has a rocker switch that allows you to clean low pile carpets and rugs as well as all types of smooth flooring. The SBB 350-3 is the included attachment with the Miele Olympus.

Each Miele S2 will work with the standard floor tools that were developed for the other Miele vacuum cleaner lines. This includes the Miele Twister, Twister XL, SBD 450-3 and SBB 235-3. The Miele SBB 300-3 Twister offers an 11.5" cleaning path while the Twister XL cleans 16" of smooth flooring with a single pass. The SBB 235-3 is a thinner floor tool that uses all natural bristles and has two small wheels to aid in movement. The SBD 450-3 Combination Floor Tool gives you the option to clean low pile rugs and smaller areas of low pile carpet, while extending the bristles allows you to easily clean any smooth flooring you may have in your home.
