Highly regarded mattress

Our baby has not yet used this mattress, but it is supposed to be the best one out there. We like that it has two levels of firmness--extra firm for infants and firm for toddlers, is anti-microbial, and that it is made of foam, not springs. It may be a little more expensive than other mattresses on the market, but many of its features should make it worth it...think about it, a baby sleeps more than half the day...don't you want the best mattress out there for him/her?Hopefully the baby will love it as much as we do.

I looked all over for a mattress for a cradle I made for our new Grand Daughter. My daughter and I both suffer from alergies and I did not want to take any chances with the new baby. This mattress not only fit but gave us the freedom of knowing it was for sensitive conditions. We are less than a week old and everything is GREAT!

Moonlight Slumber Starlight Support Crib Mattresses
Ultimately, there are a LOT of different crib mattresses out there on the market. Stores are flooded with cheap imported mattresses, often
of dubious quality. And with recent scares on products like imported dog food additives and children's toys, it's only natural to take a moment of pause when
considering purchasing products for your newborn or toddler. Moonlight Slumber has made a name for itself in offering crib and toddler mattresses
that are not only comfortable, supportive and safe but also free of common chemicals, solvents and glues that are commonly used in modern mattresses. For
infants and toddlers, many pediatricians believe that a foam mattress is best while as the child matures and grows, innerspring mattresses become a better fit. As a
gift, I purchased a Moonlight Slumber Supreme for my godson's crib.
What I like about the Starlight Support baby mattress
First, the mattress itself had two levels of firmness, so when the baby was first born, he slept on the firmer side, but after he got a little older,
my friends simply flipped the mattress, and he slept on the softer side. So it offered more customized support, regardless of his age.
Anyone who has been around infants or toddlers, knows that accidents can and do happen. So it's nice to know that when an accident does
occur, you can simply wash the sheets and not worry about replacing an entire mattress! With welded seams, the mattress can be wiped clean of any spills or messes with only
a soapy cloth or sponge (mild soap please). Each also comes with a mattress cover. Granted, the mattress cover is not waterproof or an allergen barrier, but
the mattress itself, because of the welded seams, is both of those things! So no spills, no allergens, no dust mites. Only a comfortable, supportive sleep.
The Starlight Support Supreme mattress is like other Moonlight Slumber crib mattresses in that is is free of PVC, vinyl and polyethylene - three common
products in many modern mattresses and furniture. They are also free of any phthalates, lead, mercury, and formaldehyde. Surprisingly, these compounds
are far more common in products that children come in contact with, than any one would have thought.
It may not seem like much, but particularly on the softer side of the mattress, the inner foam rails do really work to keep baby in the center of the
crib. They are soft enough that they are still comfortable but firm enough that help create a "bowl" effect. Another excellent feature, in terms of
construction, is the corners. With infants you can really never be too careful, so by eliminating that space that rounded mattresses often create in the
corners of cribs, the Starlight Support Supreme crib mattress eliminates those gaps and reduces the chances of a blanket... or arm getting stuck!
While your child won't sleep on this crib mattress his/her entire life, it does come with a lifetime guarantee in regards to the quality of the materials and
construction. And ALL Moonlight Slumber mattresses, as well as their organic blankets, are all made here in the U.S.
What I don't like about the Starlight Support baby mattress
The only real drawback I could find with this mattress was price. You'll easily spend twice as much on this mattress as you would a much cheaper, imported
mattress that you can buy at any big box store. But in the end, crib mattresses are no different than anything else - you get what you pay for.
The Starlight Support Supreme mattress that I purchased for my godson, made it through his infant and toddler years with no problems! While the initial
cost is higher than imported crib mattresses, the Starlight Supreme provides peace of mind that is priceless to parents. The mattress is durable and offers
just the right amount of support for you child whether s/he is a newborn or toddler. And because this crib
mattress comes with a lifetime guarantee while keeping out dust mites, allergens and other harmful particles, it is easily stored until my
goddaughter arrives!
