 Does what it''s supposed to do

I recently purchased one of these units. To date, I haven't had any problems with it, and our old basement is as dry as it's ever been in years. No more excessive moisture and no more smell! The lack of a hygrometer doesn't bother me. That was one of my initial concerns, but now it's not. The construction of this dehumidifier seems more "industrial" than other units I've had. I can honestly say it's done what it's supposed to do!

Breathe Easy

We were having problems with high humidity dampness and breathing problems. Believe me when I tell you that the Aprilaire 1710A exceeded all our expectations about keeping our home dry and comfortable. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a problem with a damp cellar, mold, or breathing problems. Thank you Aprilaire.

The Best Dehumidifer On The Market

I was a bit skeptical about purchasing the Aprilaire 1710A Dehumidifier. I have had 2 different dehumidifiers in our basement over the past 5 years. Our basement is very & musty smelling and the less expensive dehumidifiers lasted only about 2 years each.
What a difference with the Aprilaire. Not only is my basement dry with no musty smell, we got a great price from achoo allergy the best price on the internet. It is a heavy, sturdy dehumidifier that gets the job done. I hope it lasts for years to come. I guess it's true that you get what you pay for. I would recommend this product to friends and family. I give it an A+.

I was getting a jump on the season and started looking to replace my old dehumidifier. Up until now I have bought consumer models for large rooms but this time I wanted something more industrial that would last longer than a year or two. I saw the Aprilaire 1710 and though it was little more than I was thinking of spending but after adding up what I’ve spent over the last few years it should balance out. The auto restart is a great feature since I've noticed during the summer we occasionally have power issues and the recent storms that rolled through knocked out power for some people for days. The casters are great for this unit and it's more than large enough to keep my entire basement dry. I’m happy with the job it’s doing and look forward to many more years of service.

Aprilaire 1710 is a excellent unit for your basement if you live in the mountains where it is always damp I found this unit works just wonderfully. While doing research for a dehumidifier I was looking for something that was quiet and powerful. My basement is about 1500 sq feet which is great for company but cold and damp in the winter. The Aprilaire 1710 is portable but high capacity and no messy buckets. I found a winner with this unit.
