Great Steam Cleaner
Reviewed by: allergy sufferer from San Diego
I did my research before purchasing and worried since some of the reviews indicated issues with the product, but I figured there will be so many defects per x units and a majority of the reviews were positive. I got my cleaner very quickly and was able to assemble and use it very quickly. It does require distilled water per the instructions. I'm okay with that since you can steam quit a bit with a fairly small amount.
So far it works very well, it produces a steady forceful stream of steam and I am happy with the performance. It comes with several useful attachments. I like the small ones for getting into very small crevices to clean. I do recommend you wear ear protection when using the small attachments since the pitch is very high and loud. I did not find I needed ear protection for the larger attachments like the mop.
All in all, I love this tool. I have never owned a steam cleaner, but this has acually been fun to use and it is so very easy to fold down and store. I have dust allergies and use his on many many surfaces to kill dust mites and disinfect areas in the house. Great for wood floors, the steam is very "dry" so floors are very quickly dry to walk on. Great for he shower and grout cleaning. So much nicer than using chemicals.
I have had no technical difficulties so far. I understand the company will repair any issues under warranty however you will pay the shipping cost, if you have several mechanical failures, eventually it may not make since to continue repair, given the purchase price.
Overall, I highly recommend the product.
Customer Q & A
Q1: Can I use the Vapamore Primo to clean and kill dust mites in my upholstered furniture?
A: Yes. The heat generated will be enough to kill dust mites, so any within the top few centimeters of the exterior of the furniture should be killed. The penetration of the heat/steam will vary depending on what material the furniture is made of. The further it penetrates, the better it will kill.
Q2: I want to use tap water. How will that work with this model?
A: It will work just fine! Most people simply use tap water. As part of regular maintenance you will want to use a descaler every so often to remove any scale that may build up. Generally though, using tap water is fine and actually preferable to "softened" water. Most traditional water softeners use sodium ions to displace mineral content, and sodium is harder on the stainless steel boiler than hard water minerals.
Q3: Some very expensive machines say pressure is 65-72. Vapamore Primo says pressure is 3.5 bar how does that compare. Also, what is a quiet dBA since this machine says 30 dBA. Thanks.
A: 3.5 Bars is 50.75 PSI. So it's close but slightly less.
One thing to remember though with steam pressure is that it's not so much the actual amount as it is the consistency. Consistent pressure means you have a steady flow of steam. Pressure is created in any boiler type system whether a steam cleaner or an industrial boiler by heating water in a confined space. As the water heats the water molecules expand as they turn gaseous. This expansion exerts outward pressure as it attemps to find equilibrium. Steam pressure quickly dissipates as it is released from the boiler through the nozzle, but as long as the pressure in the tank can remain fairly steady, you'll receive a steady flow of hot steam from the machine. Very high pressures simply increase the force through which the steam leaves the nozzle, but steam cleaners do not use force as their primary mechanism of cleaning. The heat from the steam is the key ingredient. Hope that helps!
30 Decibels is roughly equivalent to a whisper in a quiet library, so placed in a typical household setting, you likely won't hear the unit while it is operating.

Vapamore Primo Steam Cleaner
With the increased interest in "green" cleaning, steam cleaners have become an increasingly important part of keeping your
home clean without the use of harsh chemicals. The new Vapamore Primo represents an economically priced steam cleaner that is
able to clean and sanitize nearly any area of your home. Redesigned taking customer's concerns into account, the Primo retains
the features that made the MR-100 so popular while addressing the few complaints with the previous machine. Using up to 250°
of steam,
the Vapamore Primo can destroy microorganisms, dust mites, and even bed bug eggs and larvae.
What I like about the Vapamore Primo
The Vapamore Primo still retains the unique design and color scheme of the older MR-100. Though overall, this steam cleaner more
closely resembles the compact style of the more expensive steamers. The Primo is actually a bit lighter than the previous model, and
it comes
with more attachments to give you a little more cleaning versatility.
While the Vapamore is not a $1000 or $2000 steam cleaner, the price is ideal for people who plan on using it around the home or even to help get
rid of a bed bug infestation. Like all steam cleaners, since you are using water heated to the point of it being turned to steam, you'll
always have moisture. However, the Vapamore Primo is considered to produce a "dry steam." Steam, by the simple
virtue of being water, will be wet. "Dry steam" refers more to the amount of moisture left behind by a steam cleaner - in this case, very little.
The new Vapamore Primo steam cleaner retains the onboard storage of the accessories (though the storage space is actually larger than before)
as well as a detachable hose for easy storage. Where it improved was with the power cord. Instead of wrapping it
around a caddy, the cord mimics that of a Miele vacuum cleaner - it retracts with the push of a simple foot pedal. Additionally, there are
a few more brushes than what were included in the old MR-100, and the handle was redesigned to give you a better feel and grip. It may not seem like
much, but the short bristle, grout brush is perfect for removing the debris and stains that seem to collect in bathroom grout lines. The last
little improvement I noticed was the notch on the body that matched up with the small plastic collar on the wand - a park feature! Several of the
steam cleaners I have tried would be greatly improved with this simple addition. Overall, you'll find a lot of upgrades, some large and some small, but
all work to give you a better all around cleaning experience.
The performance of the Vapamore was, quite frankly, great for the price point. It cleaned and sanitized nearly as well as some of the more
expensive models I have tested. The run time was impressive per tank. The Primo lasts a full ten minutes longer than the old MR-100. Often
with less expensive steam cleaners you are constantly filling them, but I was able to steam nearly all of my floors and both bathrooms with
just one tank.
When I was finished I did notice that the kitchen and bathroom smelled fresher. While I would not suggest that a steam cleaner
will solve all of your cleaning problems, for allergy and asthma sufferers or those who are sensitive to the harsh chemicals
found in household cleaners, this is a healthy and effective way to clean your home and clean it more thoroughly. The steam penetrates
and lifts while killing things like MRSA and Salmonella - things that traditional bleach cleaners largely fail at.
The redesign and integration of all of the accessories and power cord is convenient and helpful. With steam cleaners, like any home appliance that has accessories,
you can easily find yourself digging through the hallway closet or scouring the garage looking for attachments that have fallen off and
gotten lost along the way. The Vapamore Primo tucks away neatly and takes us less space than before.
What I do not like about the Vapamore Primo
With the original design of the MR-100, I had three complaints: the attachments fell off too easily, the machine could have been sturdier, and it
could use a few more attachments. It was like Vapamore read my review and remedied EVERY ONE of my complaints. The added a couple more attachments,
particularly the scraper and more nylon brushes (can never have enough of these handy tools). Vapamore also redesigned the shape of the model to it
it's more round and compact. Lastly, the attachments all twist and lock into place. So for me, there aren't few complaints I can throw out there
for the Vapamore Primo.
In general, just keep in mind your price point and weigh that versus how much you intend on using it. You cannot expect a $300 steam cleaner to go
through the abuse of an industrial model. For most of us, the Vapamore provides a cost effective
solution to eliminating allergens, germs, dust mites and mold without breaking the bank.
In all, I was impressed with the Vapamore. If you need a efficient vapor steam cleaner for monthly cleaning and sanitizing of
your home, you can't go wrong with this model at this price. If you want a more expensive machine for more frequent use, there are
several models made by very respected manufacturers that will fit the bill. Design enhancements and a lifetime
warranty, while no increase in cost, all work to make the Vapamore Primo steam cleaner a marked improvement over the older MR-100 model.
