 Very Quiet!

This filter was top-rated by Consumer Reports, but after using the filter, I'm still impressed by how much air the filter moves at a low sound level. I'm not sure how effective this filter is, but it seems to be as good as my old Enviracaire.

Hacking All Night to Sound Asleep

I had been coughing up yellow goop for nights on end before I got this air filter. It's pricey, but it's well worth it. The second night after I got it, I slept soundly & my cough evaporated. The settings are really nice too - you can have it be quiet during the night with one button. Buying this was a really great decision & my lungs are so grateful!

Q1: What are the differences between the Whirlpool 510 and the Whirlpool 450 air purifiers?
A: There are a few differences between these models, aside from price. First, the 450 is styled similarly to the smaller 250. This model also has 3 speeds, manual controls, and a slightly lower CADR ratings. The 510 is styled differently, though it does use the same filters. The AP510 also has full digital controls which includes a control lock and timer, aside from it's standard electronic features. The 510 also has slightly higher CADR ratings, larger coverage area, convenient power cord storage, and 4 fan speeds. Both share true HEPA filtration, Energy Star qualification, and high marks by independent consumer product ratings organizations.

Whirlpool Whispure 510 Air Purifier
The Whispure 510 is great for someone who is trying to remove
dust and pollen from a living room. It contains a HEPA filter and a
charcoal pre-filter which will remove some everyday odors. I
purchased this product to put in my family room to cut down on the
pollen problem everyone suffers here in Atlanta, and it has been a
life saver. Before I got the Whispure 510, I would end up with
watery itchy eyes and a stuffy nose while I watched TV or enjoyed
time with my family in our family room. Since I have the 510
we all feel better.
What I like about the Whirlpool Whispure 510
- Easy to use, just plug it in and turn it on
- 4 fan speeds to control the noise level
- Quiet
- Filter change indicator light and electronic controls
- True HEPA Filtration
- Filters are extremely easy to change
- Manufacturer's 5 Year Limited Warranty
What I didn't like about the Whirlpool Whispure 510
- Frequent filter changes: pre-filter, once every 3 months.
- HEPA filter changed once a year
- The design isn't very high-end
In summary, I would recommend this product to someone
who is looking for an inexpensive way to remove the dust
and pollen from a small area.
