In news article <a href='http:\/\/www.channel3000.com\/education\/6216318\/detail.html' target='_blank'>Policy Would Restrict Classroom Pets<\/a>, some Wisconsin schools approach the issue of classroom pets, and their affect on students with allergies and asthma. According to the article, 9% of students in the district suffer from allergies, and 11% from asthma.  But for students, parents, and board members who love their classrom pets, getting rid of pets completely seems too restrictive.  <\/p>\n<p>It&#39;s easy to see both sides of the issue.  For a kid with allergies or asthma, a class bunny or even hamster can create a real problem.  But, pets remain an important part of many children&#39;s lives, and can make the school environment a more comforting place. Rising food allergies are making more and more schools aware of the importance of creating a healthy and safe learning environment for everyone.
