Crane Duck Child Humidifiers
What I like about the Crane Duck Humidifier
With a daily maximum output of 2.1 gallons, the Duck humidifier can put enough moisture back into the air to combat dry winter conditions and ease symptoms. This ultrasonic humidifier emits cool mist without the worries that come with a boiler-style, warm mist humidifier.
Daphnie is quiet. Unlike a real duck, which can be about as pleasant to the ears as a car alarm, the Duck humidifier is nearly silent. Aside from a low hum and a stream of mist coming from the top, you could easily mistake it for not even being on.
This ultrasonic humidifier is very easy to operate. Fill the tank, set the humidity and you're done! No pads or wicks to replace.
Lastly, this child humidifier is lightweight and compact, so fit easily on my godson's dresser. There is also little maintenance required (which his parents like!). Just replace the demineralization cartridge as needed, and should you notice any mineral scale build up, you can use a descaling agent or use a home mix of water and vinegar to clean it away. What I do not like about the Crane Duck Humidifier
The lack of a hygrostat can be a bit bothersome. Putting humidity back into the air can be an easy way to relieve symptoms, but putting back too much can cause other problems. If you find yourself using this a good bit, I would recommend picking up an aftermarket hygrometer to keep tabs on the actual humidity level in the room.
With ultrasonic humidifiers, I tend to prefer the demineralization cartridge be included, not optional. Granted, many people can use an ultrasonic without it, and the price of this model is as inexpensive as any humidifier we carry, but I still would have like to have seen this included in the box.
As an inexpensive way to restore a healthy humidity level in your child's bedroom or playroom, it's hard to beat the Duck humidifier by Crane. Compact and lightweight with non-slip feet, it's stable, even in confined spaces or on slick surfaces. The humidity output is high enough to work in just about any size bedroom, and the controls/operation are simple enough that even your child could maintain it. Overall, the Duck is a cost effective way to relieve symptoms without emptying your pocketbook.
