AchooAllergy.com sponsored the American Lung Association's Asthma Walk in Atlanta, which took place on September 29, 2007. The event raised over $14,000 for asthma research.
Ashley Vinson of achoo! ALLERGY was on-hand to educate participants about asthma triggers and asthma treatment options.
Dr. Fernando Holguin, director of Emory University's Translational Asthma Research Program, was also in attendance, along with the Clean Air Bair from Georgia's Clean Air Campaign.
More than 22 million Americans have asthma, causing over 12 million lost school days in children and more than 14 million lost workdays for adults. Asthma care costs about $16.1 billion annually, and nearly 4,000 deaths are attributed to asthma each year.
