Honeywell Air Purifiers

If you suffer from allergies or asthma, then you most likely know the importance of keeping your home free of dust, pet dander, and smoke. A Honeywell air purification system could be the solution you’ve been looking for. Honeywell air purifiers operate by using multiple filters to remove pollutants from the air around them. This makes them an integral tool for anyone dealing with seasonal or year-round allergies and asthma.

When using a home air purifier, the first level of filtration is often a pre-filter. In particular, pre-filters help remove larger particles like dust, lint, fibers, and pet fur from the air. Another thing they can do is help reduce odors from cooking, bathrooms, and pets, as well as help remove VOCs. The next level of filtration for Honeywell purifiers is often a HEPA filter. These filters capture smaller airborne particles like dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris, and smoke. Honeywell HEPA filters work at an incredibly efficient 99.97%, especially in combination with other filters. Because of this, Honeywell air purifiers make excellent air purifiers for allergies and pet air purifiers.

A couple of our favorite Honeywell Air Purifiers Are:

Honeywell HPA080B InSight™ HEPA Compact Tower Air Purifier – this compact air cleaner brings you fresher air by capturing 99.97% of airborne dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris, and smoke allergen particles. Its smaller design makes it an ideal small room air purifier or even a great air purifier for travel. Finally, a VOC sensor and AQI (air quality indicators) show you just how clean the air you are breathing is.

Honeywell HPA5100B InSight™ HEPA Air Purifier For Medium-Large Rooms – Perfect for open spaces this large room air purifier also traps 99.97% of dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mite debris, and even wildfire smoke particles. It’s equipped with a True HEPA filter and cleans the air 4.8 times per hour in spaces up to 190 square feet. It also comes with an InSight™ display that illuminates settings more clearly for easier viewing at a distance.

What Does CADR Mean?

If you’re new to Honeywell air purifiers, you might be questioning what the acronym CADR stands for. It’s a pretty important term to learn, as you’ll see it often with many Honeywell air purifiers. First of all, CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. To clarify, it’s basically the measure of a portable air purifier’s ability to remove specific pollutants from the surrounding air. As an example, the Honeywell HPA5100B Air Purifier was given the following scores:

  • 4.8 Air Changes per Hour in a 190 square foot space
  • Tobacco Smoke: 114
  • Dust: 140
  • Pollen: 140

The first number you’ll see (190) refers to the room size and helps you better decide what size space this purifier will be best suited for. Since the HPA5100 is a small room air purifier with lower scores, it’s best suited for smaller rooms. It will make a great bathroom air purifier and fit nicely on a nightstand as an air purifier for bedrooms or as a personal air purifier. When it comes to choosing an air purifier, you should always ask yourself, “Where will I be using this air purifier?” or “What exactly will I be using this air purifier for?” Both mini air purifiers and large room air purifiers exist to allow customization and flexibility when searching for the best air purifier for your needs.

Will Honeywell Product Help Me Save Money?

One of the best aspects of Honeywell products is that they help reduce the damage done to your bank account. The two main ways Honeywell home air purifiers and Honeywell humidifiers can help you save money are their filters and their energy efficiency. First off, some Honeywell air purifier filters are not only washable, but they can also be permanent. This benefit ensures you only have to make the initial purchase of the air purifier because it doesn’t require you to purchase costly replacement filters. This adds a huge money-saving bonus.

Next, you can also save on costs by selecting a Honeywell product with an Energy Star rating. In particular, the Energy Star rating program is made to help customers find more energy-efficient products that will save them money in the long run. Moreover, Energy Star rated Honeywell air cleaners are known to use less energy than standard models. This allows you the added benefit of saving money on your monthly energy bill, as most air purifiers and or humidifiers tend to run for long periods of time. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Energy Star symbol when shopping for your next Honeywell humidifier or air purifier.

Honeywell Humidifiers

If you’re curious about other Honeywell products and if they make good humidifiers, we certainly think so. Honeywell has a comprehensive approach to its wide lineup of humidifiers. Overall, they span multiple different sizes, operating temperatures, and even fill styles. This helps Honeywell deliver a product selection that has a little something for each person and their specific needs. At times, it can feel like you have to make a choice between quality and quantity. Thankfully, these two concepts coexist perfectly with Honeywell humidifiers. The Honeywell brand is very intentional about designing effective and long-lasting products. As a result, they have a wide array of models from which consumers can choose.

During the driest months of the year, or in homes with forced air heating, indoor air can become dry to the point that it’s uncomfortable. This can lead to a wide array of problems, including respiratory issues, dry, cracked skin, and even hardwood floor and furniture damage. By adding essential moisture to your environment, you can create a more comfortable and healthy living space. Be sure to always consider the size of the room you’ll be humidifying, your budget, and your personal preferences when considering purchasing a Honeywell humidifier.

Different Types of Honeywell Humidifiers

  • Cool Mist Humidifiers: Known as one of the more affordable types of humidifiers, cool mist humidifiers are great for adding moisture back into the air. They are also usually more compact, making them a good choice for smaller to mid-sized rooms. Though Honeywell does have cool mist humidifiers that don’t require wicks or filters, some do. Most cool air humidifiers work by using fans to draw in moisture and pass it over a moist wick or ultrasonic disc, thereby adding moisture into the air.
  • Warm Mist Humidifiers: This type of humidifier uses a heating element to warm water before releasing it back into the air in the form of steam. Due to the mist being warmer, it’s a popular choice during winter time and for cold and flu season as well. These steam humidifiers can help to relieve congestion and coughs while still adding soothing moisture and warmth back into the space.
  • Ultrasonic Humidifiers: Capable of being both ultrasonic and cool mist, these types of humidifiers use ultrasonic vibrations to disperse a micro-fine mist into the air. Unlike traditional cool mist humidifiers, however, they don’t use noisy and disturbing fans, making them ultra-quiet. They also operate without the need for wicks or filters, which makes them conveniently more cost-effective. Overall, ultrasonic humidifiers are perfect for year-round use and are safe for children and pets.

At Achoo Allergy, one of our personal favorite Honeywell humidifiers is the Honeywell Filter-Free Ultra Comfort Cool Mist Humidifier. This humidifier by Honeywell creates a visible cool mist through that’s dispersed through a dual-directional mist outlet. This humidifier is ultra-quiet and needs no replacement filters, helping you save on costs. Its compact size and sleek design make it an ideal portable humidifier, personal humidifier, or travel humidifier. Lastly, its wide tank opening is easy to refill and clean, and its cool mist is also safe for children and pets.

Airflow & Maximizing Moisture Output

If you’re looking to achieve the best performance from your humidifier, there are some important things to consider when using them. First would be the airflow of the room. If you think of how your humidifier works, it discharges moisture into the air. This means you’ll want to maximize its output by making sure it has enough space to function correctly. In a larger setting, you’ll want to avoid placing your humidifier too close to a wall or one side of the room. This is because it will limit the efficiency and amount of space it will humidify. Instead, place it in the center of the room, where it will be given the optimal amount of space to distribute moisture throughout the entire room. Additional factors to consider that may disrupt airflow are windows and vents, as they can affect output and efficiency.

Benefits of Using a Honeywell Humidifier

  • Improved Respiratory Health: In addition to helping relieve allergy and asthma symptoms, humidifiers can help soothe congestion, coughs, and dry sinuses.
  • Better Sleep: Dry air makes it difficult to sleep soundly; adding much-needed moisture back into the air can not only help you feel refreshed but can also lead to a better night’s sleep.
  • Protects Furniture & Wood Floors: Dry winter air can also cause wood furniture and hardwood floors to crack and warp. A humidifier will add moisture back into the air and help prevent this damage.
  • Improves Skin Health: Once indoor air loses moisture, it can lead your skin to lose moisture as well, creating dry, flaky, and irritated skin. Humidifiers can help keep skin hydrated and healthy.
  • Reduces Static Electricity: Static electricity can be a pervasive and annoying occurrence when dry air strikes; keep it at bay by adding much-needed moisture back into the air.
