| It is important to measure the depth of
your mattress before ordering our allergy bedding. Allergy
Armor Cotton
mattress covers come in three depths: 9" deep, 15" deep, and
18" deep. For mattresses 9" deep and smaller, order 9"
encasings. For mattresses with depths 10" to 15", order 15"
covers. For mattresses with depths 15" to 18", order 18"
covers. Extra fabric makes installation easier and it can be
easily tucked between the mattress and box spring. |

I bought the Allergy Armor Cotton Mattress Cover along with a pillow cover and duvet cover. I was a skeptical that this would help with my 6-yr old daughter's dust mite allergy. Because nothing else was working. BUT THIS WORKED! I still vacuum and dust her room twice a week and wash her bedding twice week... but that alone was doing nothing to stop her night time coughing attacks that lasted 30-60 minutes. if she had a cold she would have asthma attacks But the very first night I used the Allergy Armor mattress cover, pillow cover and duvet cover... my daughter slept through the night without a single cough! I cannot remember that last time she slept through the night with NO coughing. This Allergy Armor product line WORKS!!!!!
I still vacuum, dust and wash bedding twice a week. But this along with Allergy Armor had given daughter and mother and good night’s rest.

I purchased this product because we suffer from allergies and asthma and I wanted to make sure we didn't have a bed full of yucky dust mites!
The cover was super easy to put on and we are sleeping better!
I put our fitted sheet overtop of the cover and you cannot tell it is on except we are sleeping better.

I went for the more expensive mattress cover because I was sweating to death with a cheap one. It was totally worth it. This one will not make you hot at all however, it is not all cotton, as the name would imply. It's a cotton/poly blend, though that hasn't been a problem for me. It still breathes. I did have the zipper move around in the wash, and it was a pain to get it back on track. It didn't actually break off, but it was close. Also, you definitely need to get the tape to put over the zipper. The zipper doesn't quite close at the end, making the whole thing moot without the tape. But my guess is that you really need the tape for any mattress cover. The cover with the tape does seem to be helping with my dust mite allergy.

Q1: Is the cotton mattress cover waterproof? We would be buying this for a crib size mattress.

A: The Allergy Armor Cotton bedding is not waterproof. If you spill something on it, initially the spill will bead up, but given time it will sink into the fabric. All of the Allergy Armor fabrics come in the crib size, EXCEPT Organic and Vinyl. If you need a crib mattress but you want waterproof, I'd suggest the either the Allergy Armor Classic or Bed Bug. Both have a urethane lining that make them waterproof, and both are effective barriers against dust mites and other allergens.
Q2: Uncertain about size. I have a queen set. Box spring is 9" deep, but pillowtop mattress is 12". What size do you recommend?
A: I would suggest you go with the 15" Cotton bedding package. The vinyl box spring cover only comes in 9". Though, I'll let you know up front, it fits very snugly, so be careful while installing. The vinyl has some give and a little stretch to it so even if it's tight you can install it with little issue. For the mattress encasing, the 15" should work fine. The larger size will make it a little easier to install plus, any excess fabric and be tucked under the mattress.
Q3: We received a crib mattress from my mother-in-law. Since they live out of state for more than half the year, the mattress smells EXTREMELY musty. We have tried airing it out outside in the fresh air, but the smell is still there and continues to come through the mattress pad and sheet. I don't want my baby breathing that in, nor do I want the room to continue to smell musty. Will one of your covers help "cover-up" the smell??? Thanks!
A: No. None of them are airtight. You do have a couple of other options though. You can try an Eco Discoveries cleaner. These products are enzyme based and won't leave any chemical residue like other cleaners. Odor X is also a good product to try to help remove the odor. You can also try steam cleaning it. Steam cleaner generally unlock trapped odors and can penetrate even hard surfaces. In this case you would want to make sure the mattress completely dries after steaming it.

I have the Allergy Armor Cotton mattress and pillow covers on my mattress. The
first night that I used them I could tell the difference. I was used to
waking up with congestion and fluid in my ears. And, I always seemed so
tired even though I had gotten plenty of sleep the night before. Little
did I know, I was sleeping with millions of dust mites every night. Once
I started sleeping with the Allergy Armor Cotton mattress covers and pillow
covers, I no longer felt so congested in the morning. This effective
Allergy Armor Cotton material is
definitely worth the price and it lasts for years.
What I like about the Allergy Armor Cotton:
- Material is very comfortable, breathable and durable
- The more you wash it the softer it gets
- It doesn't make any noise when you sleep on it
- Doesn't retain heat at all, you can't even tell that it is on your bed
- Encases entire mattress
- Easy to care for: hot water washed and dried
- 5 year warranty
What I did not like about the Allergy Armor Cotton:
- Can be a bit of a pain to put on, but you only have to take it off and
wash it three to four times a year
In summary, I would give the
Allergy Armor Cotton mattress and pillow encasings 5
stars. It really does help those who are allergic to dust mites. Because
the tightly woven mattress encasing encases the entire mattress you are
no longer susceptible to dust mites in your bed. It is a great feeling
to get a great nights rest and wake up feeling refreshed, not groggy.
Please measure the depth of your mattress before ordering (choose 9",
15" or depth of encasing). 18" also available in some sizes - call for
availability.
