 Fresh air at last!

I purchased this unit primarily for my allergies and to try to alleviate pet odor. I love my pups and getting rid of them was NOT an option. The unit is fantastic! It was put in our master bedroom as that's where most of the trouble lies. It is super quiet and, seriously, the pet odor is GONE! I can breathe! Another secret surprise: it gently blows out cool air which keeps our bedroom a nice temperature! What can I say? I love it!

Very, Very quiet

Love this air purifier! The first time my husband turned it on we were amazed at how quiet it is even at the highest setting. The filter is super simple to install and even though it is rather large it's has a very sleek and nice design to it, looks somewhat like a computer tower. Highly recommend.

After researching all th air purifiers, I bought a Blue Air. The first one I bought was a 501. I liked it so much I bought the 401 for the master bedroom. They are so quiet you can't even hear them run on lower speeds. I wish the 401 was on wheels like the 501.

Blueair 402:
I took the Blueair 402 home for a weekend test to put it through its paces and see how it operates in real-world conditions.
My impressions of this unit are overall very positive. I put it in my living room adjacent to my kitchen where I have noticed
some dust moving through the air when the sun shines through in the morning. I turned it on Friday night and ran
it on high speed. After about an hour, I noticed that the air smelled fresher. The next morning, I turned the unit down to its
second speed level while having breakfast, because it created a cool draft. After that, I repositioned the unit so that the supply
was facing away from the kitchen and turned it back on high. In the warmer months, this unit will probably keep cool air circulating
nicely throughout the room when left on high. After using it all weekend, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a solidly
constructed unit that is easy to operate. The filter can be changed in seconds; you just open the side door like you would any
cabinet in your house and the filter is right there. Another major plus is that a lot of air gets purified with minimal fan noise.
On its slowest two speeds, you can't hear the fan. On its third speed, it's audible but not to the point where its bothersome.
On high speed, you will hear it, but it's significantly quieter than comparable units.
What I like about the Blueair 402 Air Purifier:
- Solid steel construction - this unit will last a long time and is backed by a 10 year warranty
- Easy to operate with a large knob for changing speeds
- Low noise
- Easy to change filters
- Ten year warranty
What I didn't like about the Blueair 402:
- It weighs 34 pounds and needs to be on casters
- Carbon (Smokestop) filter is optional
- Requires filter changes every six months
In summary, I give the Blueair 402 five stars. Once you get it home and place it where you want it to go, it will work very well
to purify the air in your home.
