this is the best money i ever spent on a vacuum.!!! PERIOD!!!... it keeps its suction even when full!!! and it looks like you just had your carpets cleaned the way the rollers move on the carpet..My suggestion to you ....clean your carpet with your old vacuum ..go over the area 2 or 3 times ..then use the Dyson...you wont BELIEVE how much dirt and debris the Dyson picks up...i was so amazed i took a pic and sent it to my parents to show them ...lol

This is the most amazing Vacuum i have ever used! I've owned a Kirby and Hoover for years and the DC17 Asthma and Allergy Vac blows both away!! Worth every penny you will not be disappointed!

This product is amazing! I first vacuumed with my old vacuum and then with the dyson dc 17 asthma & allergy, I couldnt believe how much dust and pet dander was left behind! I've wanted a dyson for years and my husband finally broke down and got me one. Its worth every penny.Its a little heavy but it kind of steers its self when turned on. The world needs a dyson lol.

Q1: We have a lot of hardwood floors and I want to know if the DC17 is safe for wood floors or will it cause damage?
A: This vac is hard to find since it's been discontinued, but if you found somewhere to purchase, no, it should not damage your floors. The brushroll can be turned off, so like many uprights, you turn the brushroll off and you're set to use it on smooth flooring.
