Dyson DC07 All Floors Review
The Dyson DC07 All Floors is certainly an eye-catching vacuum, with bright
colors and striking innovative design. But wait until you see what it picks up
off your floors. I vacuum my low-traffic living room every weekend, and the
carpets always look clean. The Dyson DC07 All Floors demonstrated that they only
looked clean. It sucked up an embarrassingly large wad of dust, dirt, lint and
hair. DC07 All Floors: Score 1. "Invisible" dirt: Score 0.
Things I like about the Dyson DC07 All Floors
Peerless suction
In every room that I vacuumed, the DC07 All Floors picked up an amazing amount
of crud. Carpets that looked clean revealed themselves to be harboring hidden
dust and dirt, which the Dyson sucked right up. This feature is great for
allergy sufferers, as it removes an extremely high amount of even the smallest
particles – that is why the Dyson is approved for allergy sufferers by the
British Allergy Foundation. Aside from the health benefits, it makes your
carpets look great; it just might give older, worn-out carpets a new lease on
life.
Clear bin
The clear bin is one of the smartest design features ever. I can tell exactly
how well the Dyson is working, because every nasty thing it picks up is trapped
inside the clear bin. The bin holds .89 gallons, and you can always tell when
it’s full – there’s even a convenient fill line marked on the plastic. It’s very
easy to empty, the bin pops out easily, and a special trigger releases the
bottom once you’re holding it over the trashcan. It really couldn’t be simpler.
Suitable for smooth floors
True to its name, the DC07 All Floors can also be used on smooth floors. It made
short work of the crumbs on my kitchen floor. A dial on the base sets "carpet"
to "smooth floor," turning off the brush rolls to protect your hard floors and
delicate rugs. On the smooth floor, I found the Dyson much easier to maneuver
than a canister vacuum, and its wide channel made vacuuming even quicker.
Incredible design
It is amazing how much capability Dyson packs into a compact space. Their
award-winning industrial design shows careful planning and impressive results.
The tools stay put in their position behind the bin, the wand and the expanding
hose are invisible until you need them, and the clear bin is a great way to put
amazing suction on display. Helpful diagrams embossed in the plastic help
explain tool use and positioning. And, the vacuum itself is bright, attractive,
and very cool.
No replacements
You never have to replace the HEPA filter, which is made to last for the life of
the machine. The HEPA filter can be washed, and it is very easy to remove. There
are also no bags to replace. You just empty the clear bin into your trashcan, no
mess and no hassle. It’s about as easy as taking out the trash.
Things I don’t like about the Dyson DC07 All Floors
A little heavy
At 19 lbs, the Dyson DC07 is a bit heavy. It’s not difficult to maneuver, but it
does take a little force to push when you are using it on carpeting. It is very
easy to push on smooth floors, however.
Upholstery tool
The upholstery tool does not work as well as I would like. I found that the
suction was so strong, it was difficult to clean my drapes because the tool kept
sticking to the fabric. However, it would be great for cleaning stairs or
upholstered furniture.
In summary, the Dyson DC07 All Floors is a powerful vacuum that is really fun to
use. It may not be the most versatile vacuum cleaner out there, but for powerful
suction and innovative design, it has no equal. It is a terrific vacuum if you
have pets or kids, or you just want to know that your carpets are really clean.
I would highly recommend it.
