great because you always know just how well your Dyson

High Velocity Air Intake
Intake nozzles on the DC15 tools direct high velocity
airflow down into the carpet pile. This means that
you pick up more dust, dirt, and debris. The directional
force of the air agitates and dislodges all the nasty
stuff hiding in your carpet. And the airflow is
continuous, even when vacuuming curtains or upholstery,
so they don't get stuck to the cleaner. |

Dyson DC15 All Floors Vacuum Cleaner
Reviewed by: Robert Smith from Joliet IL

Best of the best. Just bought it, hubby just put it together. Handle seems to fit opposite of what instructions/picture shows (?). Anyway, all he keeps saying is "Unbelievable!!"
Best part is, our 8 lb. peke doesn't even bark at it. She ALWAYS barks at the vacuum. Incredible amount of fur and dust and dirt. Think your carpets are clean? Try the DC-15 and see for yourself.

Good with a few set backs
Reviewed by: Husband of an allergy sufferer from Raleigh, NC

Better than most expensive vaccum cleaners I've used (Hoover, Eureka). I bought this model and returned it. Get the Animal (Purple) one. The attachments that come with that model utilize the great suction power and are the best part about the thing. The only annoyance is the retractable hose. See that hand-gun style handle on top? There is a long post running down that to about where the base stops. You slide it up and out of the hose it is in cased in. That is your extendable suction rod that attachments go on. Problem? Imagine it this way. You have a retractable hose that can extend about 10-12 feet. Then you have this 2-3 foot metal rod at the end of it. I'm 5'9 and my wife 5'2. In some situations it is great and others it is terrible and inefficient to be 3 feet away from something you are trying to vacuum off (i.e., chairs, couches, etc) Still we've tried a number of vacuums for our house to try and deal with my wife's allergies (we have three large dogs and two cats). The Animal Dyson is the best we've come across. It's worth the money. Or don't you like breathing?

beats my hoover windtunnel bag version
Reviewed by: from Pleasanton, CA

Just brought home the DC-15 and put it to work. We've had the Hoover Windtunnel Self-Propelled (bag version), as I recall the CR #1. We initially liked the hoover, but progressively grew to hate it - so much so that we weren't vacuuming like we should. It was super heavy, the self-propel feature doesn't work very well, and even with its filters and special filter bags, left a very dusty smell in its wake. The dc-15 moves very easily (we have medium-high pile carpet) and picks up tons of stuff. Some have claimed the suction isn't very good - I disagree - those folks might be mistaking the weight of a vacuum for the feel of it sucking - but having experienced both vacuums now, I'd say the dyson has better suction.
