Miele S4 Vacuum Cleaner Carpet Attachments |
|
The Miele S4 is somewhat limited in its carpet cleaning capability.
This series offers no electrically driven powerbrushes,
though each is able to clean low to medium pile carpet with the right attachment. The STB
205-3 is an air driven turbobrush that is compatible with all of the S4 canister vacuums. While the 205-3
is compatible with all four models, it comes standard only with the Antares.

Miele S4 Vacuum Cleaner Hard Floor Tools |
As with all Miele vacuum cleaners, you have three
options for smooth floor cleaning. The primary
brush is the Parquet Floor Brush. With horsehair
bristles and an expanded range of motion, this
attachment is slim, maneuverable and light. The
bristles easily dislodge and collect
particles on hardwood and tile flooring. The Combo
Tool is another good option for most types of smooth
flooring, though for delicate flooring, opt for the
Parquet or Smooth Floor Brush. With the flip of a switch you can change
the setting to either low pile carpet or smooth surfaces.
The last brush option is the Smooth Floor Brush. This
tool has synthetic bristles, a slim body, and two small wheels to aid its
floor movement. The main difference
between this and the Parquet brush is the type of bristles used.
With the purchase of an S4 Miele canister vacuum, the Parquet Floor Brush is standard on all models,
EXCEPT the Carina.
Selecting the Smooth Floor Brush is an option if you are replacing a worn brush or have a personal preference.

Miele Upright Stick, S200, and S500 Vacuum Cleaner Carpet Attachments |
|
These four vacuums have a several options when it comes to cleaning carpet. With the Miele Solaris you
have three options, all suited for low to medium pile carpet. It comes standard with the mid size 217-2 powerbrush.
Though the 213-2 is available, unless you are replacing your brush the 217 is a better attachment.
Also available is the 205-2 turbobrush, but again, the 217-2 is the best of the these three.
With the Miele Plus, the 213 comes standard is works well on low to medium pile carpet. You can also opt for
the air driven 205 or step up to the larger and 234. The 234 is better suited to handle medium to high pile carpet.
The Miele upright sticks are less heavy duty vacuums, thus are somewhat limited in carpet cleaning ability. Still,
the S168 is capable of handling electric powered brushes. With the 217 powerbrush you can handle low to medium pile carpet
with ease. Should you have less carpet to clean, the 205 turbobrush is a less expensive, air driven, alternative. The S163
is not equipped to use electric powerbrushes and thus your only true carpet cleaning option is the 205 turbobrush.

| Miele Upright Stick, S200, and S500 Vacuum Cleaner Carpet Attachments |
For all Miele vacuum cleaners, you basically have three options for
smooth floor cleaning. The primary brush is the Parquet Floor Brush. With horsehair bristles and an expanded range of motion, this
attachment is slim, maneuverable and light. The bristles easily dislodge and collect particles on hardwood and tile flooring. The
Combo Tool is another good option for most types of smooth flooring, though for delicate flooring, opt for the Parquet or Smooth Floor
Brush. With the flip of a switch you can change the setting to either low pile carpet or smooth surfaces. The last brush option
is the Smooth Floor Brush. This tool has synthetic bristles, a slim body, and two small wheels to aid its floor movement. The main
difference between this and the Parquet brush is the type of bristles used.
The Solaris does not come standard with any smooth floor tools, and since a carpet brush does come with this model, purchasing
the Parquet Floor Brush or the less expensive Smooth Floor Brush is your best bet. The Miele Plus comes standard with the Smooth Floor Brush,
and for most, this will be sufficient for all of your smooth floor needs. Again, since a carpet brush comes standard there would be little
for the Combo Tool. The Miele Upright Sticks come with the Combo Tool. This tool will meet most of your cleaning needs since these uprights
are built for light to moderate cleaning.
