My wife is allergic to all kinds of outdoor stuff, and insists on keeping the windows shut. I love fresh air and like to sleep with the window open.
The Safeguard window filter made both of us happy.
It takes about 15 seconds for me to open the window, the filter in the bottom channel, slide the two filters to fit the window width and close the window on top of the filter. There is no need to remove the screen. When we leave the house, I reverse the process so I can close and lock the window.
I notice the fresh air immediately. If I want to increase the airflow, I place an inexpensive 5-inch fan on my night stand to quickly circulate the cool, clean air. And on windy nights, the baffles keep the gusts outside.

I have never been able to sleep with the window up in the spring and fall due to the pollen and the room gets so stuffy too cool for AC to kick on. Now I sleep wonderfully and the room is nice and cool!!! Thanks for this product!

I could NOT live without these filters! Now I can have fresh air in my home! I have these in two sizes on all my windows. They *do* reduce air flow, but allow enough air to circulate, use a fan to increase. Also, you can leave windows open in the rain or possible rain! A "must have" for allergy sufferers.

Q1: How often do you need to change these? A: Every 6 to 12 months, but this will vary depending on your location and the level of pollution in the air and time of year. In areas where pollen is heavier or pollution is more prevalent, you will want to lean towards 6 months. For most other places, an annual change will suffice. In the coming months, look for replacement cartridges for these filters to appear on our site. You simple remove the end cap, slide out the old cartridge and slide a new on in.

Safeguard Window Filter
The Safeguard Window Filter are a great invention! I love keeping my
windows open when the weather is nice outside, especially when I
sleep. However, I suffer from seasonal allergies, and in the spring
and fall when the weather is nice, the pollen is a problem. That is
why I love these filters. I can leave my windows open so fresh cool
air comes in, but dust and pollen stay outside.
It was not difficult to install. I just left my regular screens in place, opened the
window high enough to fit the filter, expanded the filter to the
required length, and then lowered the window to hold the filter in
place. The vinyl around the edges did a great job of sealing so that
bugs could not get in. It even keeps out rain!
To clean the filter,
simply take it outside and vacuum it off with a HEPA vacuum cleaner. You can generally do this a couple times before having to replace the
filter media catridge all together. By removing two screws on each end, you can remove the plastic end cap and pull the entire screen
cartridge out and replace it with a new one. While conditions will vary greatly depending on your location and time of year, we recommend you replace the
cartridge every 6 months to a year in places were pollen or allergens are not high. And during allergy season you will likely want to
replace the filter catridge every 3 months or sooner, depending on severity.
While these filters do not allow air to flow as freely though them as a traditional screen, the upside is they
do allow air to pass while keeping most rain out. The filter media and screen mesh prevents large particles as well as pollen
and other allergens from entering the home. They help keep your house cool during transitional months by allowing air to pass while
preventing outdoor allergens in at a time when they are at their peak. For places where pollen is heavy and coats everything in a
fine yellow-green powder, Safeguard window filters allow you to keep your windows open without having to dust and vacuum up pollen every day.
