Whirlpool APT40010R Air Purifier
Compact and lightweight, the Whirlpool Whispure Tower air purifier is a great addition to any room where
air quality may need improvement. As an introductory level air purifier, the Whirlpool APT40010R has a decent
set of features and offers basic filtration with light odor removal capabilities. Economically priced and easy to use
and maintain, the Whirlpool APT40010R can be a great addition to any home.
What I like about the Whirlpool Whispure Tower Air Purifier
- Affordable - With a low initial cost and well priced filters, the APT40010R is one of the least expensive HEPA air
purifiers to own and operate.
- Easy to use controls - Everything is very intuitive, and the push buttons are easy to read. Indicator lights let you
clearly know when it's time to replace the filter.
- Design - The tower design is by far one of the most popular designs when it comes to home air purifiers. More importantly,
this design saves space, which can be at a premium in dorms, apartments and small to medium sized bedrooms.
- HEPA Filtration - Not "HEPA like" or some knock off. The HEPA filters offers solid particle filtration.
- Lightweight - Easy to move from room to room (the handle on the back helps too).

What I didn't like about the Whirlpool Whispure Tower Air Purifier
- Like many inexpensive air purifier models, the APT40010 requires annual HEPA filter changes, but the pre-filter
must be changed every 3 months. This type of non-woven carbon pre-filter actually works great for the first few months, but
around the 3 month mark, the odor adsorbing ability is all used up. It will continue to filter out large particle like pet hair, but
any odor or chemical adsorbing ability is essentially spent by three months.
For smaller areas or mild to moderate allergies, the Whirlpool Whispure Tower can be a good air purifier to add to your home. Like
most home appliances this model fits the mold of getting what you pay for, so for more specialized or advanced filtration you should consider
other models. The Whispure air purifier models have enjoyed a high amount of praise from consumer ratings organizations, and this introductory
tower is simply a more compact version of that same technology.

9/11/12 We keep our IQAir HealthPro in our bedroom, but it keeps most the home feeling like clean air 700sq ft place. I'd recommend to anyone! More Testimonials
