    Boneco 7144 Ultrasonic Humidifier

As one of the digital Boneco humidifiers, the 7144 Ultrasonic Humidifier combines top of the line humidification with the ease of state of the art electronic & automatic controls. Like other Boneco digital humidifier models, the 7144 features convenient controls with an easy-to-read LCD screen, yet where this humidifier differs from many is in the Boneco Intelligent Temperature Compensation (ITC). Just as many modern appliances will function based on their surrounding environment, so too will the Boneco 7144 humidifier. This humidifier will adjust mist output based on the temperature of the room, automatically optimizing relative humidity.

This feature works to maintain a comfortable humidity level with little worry or supervision, ideal for people on the go. This model also has dual warm mist and cool mist capabilities, so whatever your preference, the Boneco 7144 humidifier can meet your needs.

A major concern with any humidifier is hygiene. As an appliance that has standing water, the 7144 uses a combination of technologies to address hard water minerals as well as microbes or other impurities in the water. From high-frequency, ultrasonic vibrations to the included Hydro Cell and a demineralization cartridge with embedded, ionic silver, the 7144 home humidifier removes, destroys and neutralizes the things that often create problems for other humidifiers. So, from features and performance to hygiene and ease-of-use, Boneco 7144 humidifiers are an effective and safe way to restore comfort to your home.

works well, but value is only okay
I purchased the predecessor, and received this as a warranty replacement. After 2.5 years, a wire desoldered from the metal diaphragm on the old one. I later purchased a big box unit (for a third the cost) because this one wasn't big enough. The Air-O-Swiss puts a lot of humidity into the air... nearly 3x what the big box unit does, based on tank capacity and usage time. It raised the humidity in the open concept part of my house (~900 sq ft) by 20-25% during the winter. The hygrometer closely matched 2 independent electronic meters. The dual vents are nice to distribute the humidity better. I never had issues with mold or bacteria in the tank or reservoir. The demineralization cartridge worked well with tap water at first. With one glaring exception, the ergonomics are good, and details are well thought out.
Now the bad. I think the silver painted plastic looks cheap, and the tank behind the face makes it difficult to fill and replace the tank, particularly if it's along a wall. The demineralization cartridge lost effectiveness pretty quickly, I would estimate after 2 months of daily usage. As mentioned, I had a warranty issue with my first unit. While warranty service was great, it was too close to the warranty expiration for comfort. The warm mist really isn't, as the heater is too small to really do anything.
Overall, I like this unit. I'm not sure I would purchase either humidifier again, though, and would be hard pressed to state a preference. I wish I could rate 3.5 stars, but I feel that for the price I should round down.

I really like this model, because it does not really look like a humidifier and fits in with my home decor. I had an older model a 7133 from this company and I wanted another airoswiss, but I liked this style better. It works just as well as the other!

Excellent product needs better quality control
I purchased this humidifier because of the Intelligent Temperature Compensation feature. However, the hygrostat in the first unit I received was way out of calibration 20 percent low so the automatic control couldn't maintain a humidity level below 70%, which is much too high for Michigan in the winter. I got a replacement unit from Achoo Allergy great customer service! which works correctly and does a great job. It is also quiet enough for a bedroom. My only minor complaint is that there is no handle on the bottom of the water tank, so filling is a bit awkward. I would rate it five stars except for this one quality control issue.

    Best humidifier we've had
This is a super quiet, efficient humidifier for our bedroom. There is no moisture on the windows in the morning as we had with our previous humidifier. It is easy to fill and clean and I like the fact it has its own recommended cleaning product, which is easy to use and handy. The best operating humidifier of several names we've had to date.

    good humidifier
This is the first humidifier I have purchased so I do not have a lot to compare it to however, I like it a lot. All of the features mentioned seem to work well, and it does not interfere with the look of my room. If you have the little bit of extra money to spend on it, it's a good buy.

This humidifier has met all of my expectations. This unit performs as advertised. Also, the buying and delivery of this product from AchooAllergy.com was great.

    Great Humidifier
I decided to upgrade to an air o swiss because I use a humidifier every night for breathing issues. This one is perfect - it is silent, the humidity monitor is very accurate and will shut the flow off if it reaches the desired level. I have been using it for a few weeks and I only have to refill it once every 2 days or so. Overall, I am very happy w/my purchase.

I did a lot of research before buying this model. Much better than models sold by big box stores.

Air O Swiss Humidifier is top notch
My son suffers from allergies and I had been reading up on humidifiers and decided to purchase one. I wish I would have purchased it sooner. The Air O Swiss 7144 works fantastic. It's quiet, produces just the right amount of moisture in my sons room at night and he does not wake up with a stuffy nose anymore. So glad I purchased this product. Thanks once again AchooAllergy. You guys are awesome!!!!

    Boneco 7144 Ultrasonic Humidifier Reviews

    BONECO 7144 Ultrasonic Digital Humidifier

The Boneco 7144 Ultrasonic humidifier showcases some of the finest features and most efficient humidifying found in only the best humidifiers available today. From a robust moisture output and stylish design to intuitive controls and hygienic operation, the 7144 is a durable home humidifier, more than capable of providing relief from dry air anywhere in your home. When taking a closer look at this humidifier, it is not difficult to see why it remains a popular choice for those dealing with the negative effects of dry indoor air, year in and year out.

What I like about the Boneco 7144 Ultrasonic Humidifier

In terms of performance, the 7144 can put up to three and a half gallons of moisture back into your indoor air. This is key during the drier fall and winter months when low humidity can cause coughing at night, dry or cracked sinuses, an increase in airborne dust, and even damage to wood furniture and trim. While high humidity can cause mold growth, very low indoor humidity is uncomfortable. Putting much needed moisture back into the air can help your skin, sinuses and lips, and the 7144 is an easy way to deliver moisture, quickly.

No one wants to spend valuable time trying to figure out a home appliance. We want it to work, work quickly and work well, and the BONECO 7144 humidifier does just that. Soak the cartridge, fill the tank and away you go. The easy-to-use control panel lets you set your desired humidity and will display the current humidity level. The LCD display is easy to read and gives you a quick rundown of of the status of the humidifier with just a glance. From the control panel you can turn the unit on/off, select your humidity level and mist output, set the timer, choose between warm mist and cool mist, set sleep or auto modes, and determine when the tank is empty or when the humidifier needs to be cleaned.

What's worse than spending time trying to figure out how to use your humidifier? Cleaning it. Thankfully, the 7144 builds in a variety of features to not only cut down on cleaning but also keep the moisture that you're putting back into your indoor air, clean. The process starts in the water tank. A disc of activated carbon, the Hydro Cell, adsorbs chemicals and other impurities that may be in the water. Next, a demineralization cartridge removes hard water minerals. This helps to not only avoid the problem of white mineral dust that plagues other ultrasonic humidifier brands but because the cartridge itself has ionic silver embedding in the housing, the cartridge also acts as an antimicrobial agent. Lastly, ultrasonic vibrations literally destroy the cell walls of any remaining microbes, killing them. All of these add up to a cleaner system, and aside from replacing the cartridge and Hydro Cell as needed, there's less cleaning because there's less mineral scale buildup.

The dual warm/cool mist capability is an advantage over other humidifiers. While the warm mist only means that the water is preheated, it is enough that when the mist comes out, it won't effect the overall temperature of the room. The choice between cool mist or warm mist dehumidification varies primarily upon what your physician has recommended or is simply a matter of personal preference. Regardless of what type of mist you select from this humidifier, you will see immediate results in the comfort level of the room.

Lastly, the Boneco 7144 humidifier has a unique look. With a stainless steel-style finish and sleek design, the 7144 has a very modern feel to it. In addition to its unique appearance, it is also extremely quiet and won't disturb even the lightest of sleepers.

What I do not like about the Boneco 7144 Ultrasonic Humidifier

My only real drawback with this humidifier is a minor one. I still wish the tank held more water! That would mean fewer fill ups for me, particularly since the space in which I use it is EXTREMELY dry during the winter. Still, filling it once in the morning and once in the evening isn't a terribly difficult task, and with a larger tank it would be that much heavier to lug around.

NOTE: Don't use softened water. I saw this mainly as a warning because the sodium in softened water can degrade the diaphragm and cause premature wear. If you do have softened water in your home, use distilled in your humidifier. While paying for distilled water may seem like an extra expense, the good news is you won't have to worry about replacing the demineralization cartridge since there will be no minerals to remove. You can, however, leave it in the humidifier to continue to reap the benefits of ionic silver, but it's likely unnecessary.

Overall, the Boneco 7144 humidifier is a great fit for nearly any home. It provides a wide range of features while delivering solid humidifying performance. Most Boneco humidifiers are designed to provide years of consistent use, and the 7144 is no exception. The design will fit nearly any decor and the results will bring relief to even the worst conditions.

    Product Questions

If I use distilled water, do I still need the EZCal?
I am thinking of buying a AOS7144. Should I also buy EZCal? How long will one box last and do you think I need it with this model?
