AeroChamber Plus with Flow-Vu |
The AeroChamber Plus by Monaghan Medical is a valved holding chamber for use in delivering metered
dose medications. The AeroChamber Plus is the physician recommended way to deliver asthma and other metered
dose medication effectively and efficiently. This holding chamber incorporates several improved features over the older style Plus and MAX
holding chambers:
- The Flow-Vu indicator moves on the inhale and
exhale;
this is especially helpful for parents who want to make sure children are actually getting their medication.
- The StatBan anti-static polymer chamber delivers more medication to the patient.
- The ComfortSeal mask for the AeroChamber Plus features an EZ Flow exhalation valve to make exhalation easier.
- A new flow dynamic valve and baffle system increases the amount of medicine that makes it to your lungs and decreases oral deposition of medicine for reduced side effects.
- A new universal adapter fits all commonly prescribed inhalers, including new HFA inhalers.
- A slimmer barrel design allows for maximum flow through the spacer for a complete delivery of your MDI.
- Aerohambers are made in Pittsburgh, PA of American and Canadian parts.
*Please note that the AeroChamber Plus with Flow-Vu requires a prescription for purchase. Please fax to 1-800-237-9618 or e-mail
the doctor's prescription to cs@achooallergy.com after placing your
order. We will be happy to finalize your order and ship out your AeroChamber.

AeroChamber Plus - Valved Holding Chamber |
|
What is a valved holding chamber, or VHC?
Valved holding chambers are devices designed for use with
metered-dose inhalers (MDI). Their purpose is to improve medication
delivery, decrease deposition of medication in the mouth and throat,
and eliminate the need to coordinate activating the MDI with
inhaling the medication.
Holding chambers have valves that prevent medication loss during
exhalation by allowing air to flow through the chamber only during
inspiration. For children with asthma, an MDI with a holding chamber
may be easier to use and more effective than an MDI alone.

    I love AeroChamber

I've tried other products and I must admit that I am a big fan of AeroChambers as they are easy to clean and they have a flap that moves when you inhale so you can count your breaths.

Customer Q & A
Q1: What is the difference between the AeroChamber Plus and the AeroChamber Max both blue, without the mask?
Thank you.
A: The primary difference between these two models in the valve. The MAX model used a "duckbill" valve while the valve in the Plus is designed differently. The Flow-Vu valve is also positioned slightly differently in each and the barrel of the Plus is slightly smaller in diameter but also slightly longer. Overall, the differences are rather small but the main thing being the type of valved used though both are ONE way valves.
