The AirMedic is AllerAir's most efficient unit and provides the cleanest air possible for your home or office. Its cylindrical shape features 360-degree air intake that removes chemicals, particles, gases, and odors on the first pass of air through the unit. The AirMedic's clean air delivery rate is top-of-the line and provides you with pure air quickly and consistently.

The AirMedic+ has all the powerful features of the AirMedic with a redesigned internal structure that's the product of over ten years of air purification engineering experience. Fitted with a completely sealed European impeller for increased effectiveness in particle filtration, the AirMedic+ also features a variable speed motor that offers users complete control of their indoor air quality.

VOCARB models featuring a special carbon blend for capturing VOCs (volatile organic compounds) are available with both the AirMedic and the AirMedic+. Germicidal UV lights are available with the AirMedic+.

I can really control the speed and the noise level. Most air purifiers clean the air, but it is usually hard to find one that has a variable speed setting.

I spent too much time reading all these articles about what could go wrong, germs, allergies, sickness... In trying to create the cleanest environment for our newborn, one decision I was very pleased about making was choosing to purchase an AirMedic. I opted for one with all of the options. If nothing else, it gave me peace of mind in knowing that I had something in the house to help take care of germs, dust and allergens. I felt good in knowing that one device handled these things. While I'm still trying to adapt to being a new mom, the air in our home is one thing I don't have to worry about.

AllerAir AirMedic Air Purifier

The AirMedic offers many of the same great features that are common in AllerAir air purifiers but with a few significant upgrades. The AirMedic series is broken into two groups, the AirMedic and AirMedic+. Both offer 18-25lbs of blended carbon as well as two microbial filters. The differences lie in three areas. First, instead of a traditional three speed dial, the AirMedic+ has a variable speed dial. This feature gives you better control than a set, three speed dial. Secondly, the AirMedic+ features a completely sealed motor which means there is no bypass, and air is cleaned thoroughly on the first pass. Lastly, the AirMedic+ offers an optional UV light.

What I liked about the AllerAir AirMedic

Each model in this line offers a variety of options making it easy to choose the right air purifier to meet your specific needs. There are options in the carbon, either 18 or 25lbs. of MAC-B or Vocarb. The MAC-B offers a wider range of absorption while the Vocarb focuses more specifically on VOC’s. While the AirMedics all come with two anti-microbial filters to trap pathogens, some come equipped with a medical grade HEPA filter while others are manufactured with an electrostatic particle filter. Additionally, the AirMedic+ has an optional UV light to better neutralize viruses and bacteria. This level of customization is something that sets AllerAir apart from its competitors.

The filter life for AirMedics is exceptional. The HEPA filters last anywhere from 4-8 years, and the carbon filters generally have a 2-3 year lifespan. The electrostatic particle filters will need to be replaced sooner than the HEPA filters, and the Prodense™ pre-filters last roughly 2-3 months (though vacuuming will extend this). This long lifespan makes these AllerAir units more economical than units where the filters need to be replaced every year or less.

The warranty for the AirMedic is a full ten years for the parts and 5 years for parts and labor. That is one of the longest in the industry.

What I did not like about the AllerAir AirMedic

Though Vocarb carbon is an option, the AirMedic is not quite as effective at filtering VOC’s as the 5000 series. The carbon bed is thinner than the 5000 and because the air intake is 360° instead of through the bottom, the dwell time is slightly lower. A longer dwell time increases the effectiveness of the carbon.

As with nearly all of the AllerAir units, the AirMedics are not very stylish, nor are they light. The AirMedics weigh either 45 or 55 lbs. (depending on model) and come in three colors.

The AirMedic units are another great product from AllerAir. Highly customizable while offering excellent filtration, the AirMedics provide allergy, MCS, and asthma sufferers with much needed relief. For moderate to severe respiratory problems, the AirMedics are an excellent choice as a no-frills, performance based air purifier.
