Developed
for people with severe sensitivities to airborne chemicals as well as allergens, AllerAir air
purifiers eliminate more than just particulate matter from the air. Long-term exposure to toxic gases like
VOCs, which are common in modern buildings, can lead to cancer and other chronic illnesses. With a
true medical-grade HEPA filter and the most activated carbon in the industry,
AllerAir air purifiers neutralize odors and harmful chemicals as well as airborne allergens like dust,
mold, and pet dander.

AllerAir Air Purifier Selection |
When selecting an AllerAir air purifier, you should ask yourself two basic questions:
1) How much area does the air purifier need to cover? and 2) What kind of air impurities does the air purifier need to remove?
Area Coverage. We offer five main
series of AllerAir air purifiers: the 4000 series, the 5000
series, the 6000 series, the AirMedic/AirMedic+ series, and
the Air Tube series.
The
AllerAir 4000 series work most effectively
in areas up to 600 square feet. In a room up
to 600 square feet, they provide four air changes per hour
which is the minimum ACH recommended for allergy sufferers.
The
AllerAir 5000 series work most effectively
in areas up to 750 square feet, and
AllerAir 6000 series work most effectively
in areas up to 900 square feet.
AirMedic series work most effectively in
areas up to 1,500 square feet, and
the
AllerAir AirTube works best in smaller areas between
100 and 500 square feet depending on the specific model
Air Impurities. Once you have determined what size AllerAir air purifier you need, you should consider which types of indoor air impurities it
needs to remove. While all AllerAir air purifiers remove allergens and particulate matter like mold
spores, pet dander, dust mite allergen, pollen, and odors, some of them specialize in removing other
impurities like bacterial and viral pathogens, VOCs, chemicals, and gases.
The AllerAir 5000 EXEC Air Purifier presents the best value for an allergy or asthma
sufferer with its four-stage filtration to remove pet dander, pollen, dust, mold, spores, chemical vapors,
and more. The AllerAir 5000 DS Air Purifier is specially designed to adsorb tobacco
smoke, tar, fine ash, and other airborne particulates; its specially blended carbon traps up to 400 toxic chemicals found in tobacco smoke. The AllerAir
5000 DS Air Purifier, however, does not remove VOCs, nor does it come with a sterilizing UV
lamp. The AllerAir 5000 EXEC UV Air Purifier has a UV lamp for sterilizing airborne
pathogens, while the AllerAir 5000 VOCARB Air Purifier has the ability to adsorb VOCs
but does not have a UV lamp.
The AllerAir 6000 series air purifiers are taller and more effective than
the 5000 series, and they're designed for heavy-duty applications and contain many pounds of activated carbon for increased removal of chemicals, gases,
and odors. The AllerAir 6000 EXEC Air Purifier contains a whopping 22 pounds of activated
carbon in its MAC-B filter. The AllerAir 6000 VOCARB Air Purifier contains 26 pounds of
activated carbon and also removes VOCs. The AllerAir 6000 D Air Purifier contains 28
pounds of activated carbon, and the AllerAir 6000 DX Air Purifier contains 36 pounds of
activated carbon for maximum chemical, gas, and odor removal.
The
AllerAir AirMedic series, with its 360-degree air
intake, covers the largest square footage and offers the
ultimate in clean air delivery rates. Standard AirMedics
have a partially sealed motor and 3-speed control, while the
AirMedic+ models have a completely sealed motor and variable
control. All AirMedics feature a five-stage filtration
system that removes chemicals, gases, allergens, and odors
from the air. The AirMedic D and AirMedic+ D Air Purifiers
feature an extra deep bed of MAC-B activated carbon,
measuring 3" instead of the standard 2". AirMedic VOCARB and
Air Medic+ VOCARB models have a specially blend of carbon
that traps VOCs. AirMedic+ models are available with an
optional UV light to sterilize airborne pathogens.
The AllerAir AirTube series
is perfect for smaller spaces or for use
while traveling. Without compromising on power and
effectiveness, you can purchase compact and portable units
for clean air even while on the go. All Air Tube Air
Purifiers contain pre-filters, HEPA filters, and carbon
filters. Besides variations in the amount of space the units
cover, Air Tube options span a range of weight, from 14 lbs.
for the Air Tube Jr. to 22 lbs. for the Air Tube Supreme. In
addition, Air Tube Supreme VOCARB, Air Tube VOCARB, and the
Air Tube Jr. VOCARB Air Purifiers have specially blended
carbon for extra protection from VOCs. Air Tube Supreme and
Air Tube models also offer optional germicidal UV lights to
destroy biological contaminants.

AllerAir Air Purifier Powerful 4-Stage Filtration
|
The AllerAir air purifier cleans the air with a five-stage filtration process. First, a pre-filter captures large particles like hair and dust. Second, a
true medical-grade HEPA filter traps 99.97% of all particles as small as 0.3 microns. Third, an activated carbon filter with several pounds of granular
virgin carbon filters out chemicals, gases, and odors; this specially formulated AllerAir MAC-B (mass activated carbon bed) filter traps hundreds of
different toxic chemicals. Activated carbon is the only safe, cost-effective way to trap noxious gases and odors. After being treated with oxygen to open
up millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms, one pound of activated carbon has an unbelievable surface area of 60 to 150 acres.
The U.S. Army uses
activated carbon to keep troops safe from poisonous gases. The AllerAir MAC-B activated carbon filter works like a sponge, adsorbing chemicals until its
full. When its full, it will need to be replaced. AllerAir MAC-B filters contain between 7 and 48 pounds of activated carbon and will
last from 9 to 24 months.
Most air cleaners contain only a few ounces of carbon not enough for a useful long-term impact. The fourth stage of filtration in the AllerAir air purifier
features two antimicrobial filters to prevent the growth of airborne microorganisms. Finally, in the fifth stage of AllerAir filtration, an optional UV
lamp provides further protection against harmful microbes like mold, bacteria, and viruses.
