AllerAir Air Purifiers
|
|
Developed for people with severe sensitivities to airborne chemicals as well as allergens, AllerAir air purifiers eliminate more than just particulate matter from
the air. Long-term exposure to toxic gases like VOCs, which are common in modern buildings, can
lead to cancer and other chronic illnesses. With a true medical-grade HEPA filter and the most activated carbon in the industry (specially formulated MAC-B carbon),
AllerAir air purifiers neutralize odors and harmful chemicals as well as airborne allergens like dust,
mold, and pet dander.
Optional UV lamps sterilize airborne pathogens like viruses and harmful bacteria.

AllerAir Air Purifier Selection |
When selecting an AllerAir air purifier, you should ask yourself two basic questions: 1) How much area does the
air purifier need to cover? and 2) What kind of air impurities does the air purifier need to remove?
1) Area Coverage: Area Coverage: We offer five main
series of AllerAir air purifiers: the 4000 series, the 5000
series, the 6000 series, the AirMedic/AirMedic+ series, and
the Air Tube series.
AllerAir 4000 series air purifiers work most effectively
in areas up to 600 square feet; that is to say, in a room up
to 600 square feet, they provide four air changes per hour,
which is the minimum ACH recommended for allergy sufferers.
AllerAir 5000 series air purifiers work most effectively
in areas up to 750 square feet, and
AllerAir 6000 series air purifiers work most effectively
in areas up to 900 square feet.
AirMedic series air purifiers work most effectively in
areas up to 1,500 square feet, and
AirTube air purifiers work best in smaller areas between
100 and 500 square feet depending on the specific model
2)Air Impurities: Once you have determined what size AllerAir air purifier you need, you should consider which types of indoor air impurities it
needs to remove. While all AllerAir air purifiers remove allergens and particulate matter like mold
spores, pet dander, dust mite
allergen, pollen, and odors, some of them specialize in removing other
impurities like bacterial and viral pathogens, VOCs, chemicals, and gases.
The AllerAir 4000 EXEC UV Air Purifier has a UV lamp for sterilizing airborne
pathogens, and the AllerAir 4000 VOCARB Air Purifier has the ability to adsorb VOCs.
The AllerAir 5000 EXEC Air Purifier presents the best value for an allergy or asthma
sufferer with its four-stage filtration to remove pet dander, pollen, dust, mold, spores, chemical vapors,
and more. The AllerAir 5000 DS Air Purifier is specially designed to adsorb tobacco
smoke, tar, fine ash, and other airborne particulates; its specially blended carbon traps up to 400 toxic chemicals found in tobacco smoke. The AllerAir
5000 DS Air Purifier, however, does not remove VOCs, nor does it come with a sterilizing UV
lamp. The AllerAir 5000 EXEC UV Air Purifier has a UV lamp for sterilizing airborne
pathogens, while the AllerAir 5000 VOCARB Air Purifier has the ability to adsorb VOCs
but does not have a UV lamp.
The AllerAir 6000 series air purifiers are even taller and more effective than
the 5000 series, and they're designed for heavy-duty applications and contain many pounds of activated carbon for increased removal of chemicals, gases,
and odors. The AllerAir 6000 EXEC Air Purifier contains a whopping 22 pounds of activated
carbon in its MAC-B filter. The AllerAir 6000 VOCARB Air Purifier contains 26 pounds of
activated carbon and also removes VOCs. The AllerAir 6000 D Air Purifier contains 28
pounds of activated carbon, and the AllerAir 6000 DX Air Purifier contains 36 pounds of
activated carbon for maximum chemical, gas, and odor removal.
The AllerAir AirMedic series, with its 360-degree air
intake, covers the largest square footage and offers the
ultimate in clean air delivery rates. Standard AirMedics
have a partially sealed motor and 3-speed control, while the
AirMedic+ models have a completely sealed motor and variable
control. All AirMedics feature a five-stage filtration
system that removes chemicals, gases, allergens, and odors
from the air. The AirMedic D and AirMedic+ D Air Purifiers
feature an extra deep bed of MAC-B activated carbon,
measuring 3" instead of the standard 2". AirMedic VOCARB and
Air Medic+ VOCARB models have a specially blend of carbon
that traps VOCs. AirMedic+ models are available with an
optional UV light to sterilize airborne pathogens.
The Air Tube series is perfect for smaller spaces or for use
while traveling. Without compromising on power and
effectiveness, you can purchase compact and portable units
for clean air even while on the go. All Air Tube Air
Purifiers contain prefilters, HEPA filters, and carbon
filters. Besides variations in the amount of space the units
cover, Air Tube options span a range of weight, from 14 lbs.
for the Air Tube Jr. to 22 lbs. for the Air Tube Supreme. In
addition, Air Tube Supreme VOCARB, Air Tube VOCARB, and the
Air Tube Jr. VOCARB Air Purifiers have specially blended
carbon for extra protection from VOCs. Air Tube Supreme and
Air Tube models also offer optional germicidal UV lights to
destroy biological contaminants.
AllerAir offers a wide variety of colors and styles,
depending on the series and model. Available colors include
black, white, pewter, sandstone, and silver, and available
finishes include eggshell, glossy, matte, and hammered. The
matte and hammered textured finishes will not show scratches
as much as eggshell or glossy finishes might.

AllerAir Air Purifier Technology – Medical-Grade HEPA & MAC-B Carbon Filters |
The AllerAir air purifier cleans the air with a five-stage filtration process. First, a pre-filter captures large particles like hair and dust. Second, a
true medical-grade HEPA filter traps 99.97% of all particles as small as 0.3 microns. Third, an activated carbon filter with several pounds of granular
virgin carbon filters out chemicals, gases, and odors; this specially formulated AllerAir MAC-B (mass activated carbon bed) filter traps hundreds of
different toxic chemicals. Activated carbon is the only safe, cost-effective way to trap noxious gases and odors. After being treated with oxygen to open
up millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms, one pound of activated carbon has an unbelievable surface area of 60 to 150 acres. The U.S. Army uses
activated carbon to keep troops safe from poisonous gases. The AllerAir MAC-B activated carbon filter works like a sponge, adsorbing chemicals until it’s
full. When it’s full, it will need to be replaced. AllerAir MAC-B filters contain 7 – 48 pounds of activated carbon and will last from 9 – 24 months.
Most air cleaners contain only a few ounces of carbon—not enough for a useful long-term impact. The fourth stage of filtration in the AllerAir air purifier
features two antimicrobial filters to prevent the growth of airborne microorganisms. Finally, in the fifth stage of AllerAir filtration, an optional UV
lamp provides further protection against harmful microbes like mold, bacteria, and viruses.

AllerAir Air Purifier - Optional UV Lamp Air Sterilizer |
In 1903, Neils Finsen won the Nobel Prize in Medicine for using UV light (ultraviolet radiation) to sterilize the bacteria that causes
tuberculosis. Hospitals, medical offices, and laboratories have been using germicidal UV lamps to sterilize air and water for over 50 years. Inside the
AllerAir air purifier, the UV lamp sits above the filters and emits a certain wavelength of energy, ultra-violet energy, which breaks down organic matter
and destroys the DNA of biological contaminants. You won’t have to change the UV bulb frequently since the average life
span of a UV bulb is 10,000 hours.

AllerAir Air Purifier – Compact, Efficient, Heavy-Duty |
The cylindrical shape of the compact yet powerful AllerAir air purifier provides maximum airflow, and rolling casters provide easy, scuff-free movement. Easy to operate and maintain, the affordable AllerAir air purifier will last for years. The HEPA filter lasts 3-5 years before needing to be replaced; the carbon filter lasts 1 – 3 years, depending on the environment; and the prefilter lasts 2 – 3 months—but you can extend the life of the prefilter by vacuuming it with a HEPA vacuum cleaner. Additionally, AllerAir replacement filters are less expensive than most replacement filters, and since the carbon filter and the HEPA filter are separate, you can use only the carbon filter if you wish and save money by prolonging the life of your HEPA filter. Join the Clean Air Club, our free filter replacement reminder program, and we’ll automatically notify you when it’s time to change your filters. All AllerAir air purifiers come with a 10-year warranty on parts and 5-year warranty on labor, and the all-metal, durable housing is guaranteed not to off-gas harmful chemicals. See
achoo! ALLERGY’s Return Policy for more information about the warranty. The AllerAir air purifier does not produce any
ozone, a lung irritant emitted by some air cleaners, nor does it consume much electricity. In fact, the AllerAir motor consumes 95 watts of power—about the same as a single 100 watt light bulb. You can run your AllerAir air purifier constantly for only pennies a day!

AllerAir Air Purifier – Health Benefits |
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), since we live and work in buildings that are sealed tightly for energy efficiency, air pollution levels are two to five times higher inside the home than out (and sometimes they can be 100 times higher!). We take 9 out of 10 breaths indoors, inhaling about two table spoons of airborne particles a day. Airborne particles include allergens like mold spores, pet dander, dust mite allergen, and pollen. Because the founder of AllerAir Technologies designed the first AllerAir air purifier for his wife who suffered from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), he realized that people need an air purifier that effectively eliminates irritating gases, toxic chemicals, odors and smoke as well as airborne air particles. The AllerAir MAC-B carbon filter contains the most activated carbon in the industry and effectively filters air impurities in the form of gas, odor, vapor, or smoke. AllerAir air purifiers do not off-gas toxic chemicals, nor do they emit
ozone, a powerful lung irritant that should be avoided by allergy and asthma sufferers. AllerAir air cleaners will rid your air of hundreds of different impurities and toxic chemicals and help you breathe better. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) can enter the air from cleaning products, new carpet, new furniture, adhesives, plastics, and building materials. Many VOCs, such as formaldehyde, can lead to cancer and other illnesses after repeated exposure. Secondhand tobacco smoke contains hundreds of toxic chemicals and many carcinogens; luckily, AllerAir air purifiers can absorb smoke, tar, fine ash, and other airborne particles. Besides the specially formulated MAC-B carbon filtration, AllerAir air purifiers provide true medical-grade HEPA filtration, eliminating dust, mold, animal dander, pollen, bacteria, viruses, and other disease-causing microorganisms. AllerAir Air Purifiers for Smoking Areas |
Everybody knows that a smoker jeopardizes his or her health with every cigarette, but did you know that the same smoker also jeopardizes your health with every cigarette? Cigarette smoke contains more than 4,000 chemical compounds and at least 400 toxic substances. The EPA has concluded that secondhand smoke can cause cancer in adults who do not smoke, and they estimate that exposure to secondhand smoke causes about 3000 lung cancer deaths each year. Exposure to secondhand smoke also increases the risk of heart disease. Secondhand tobacco smoke is especially harmful for children, people with compromised immune systems, and the elderly. In children, secondhand smoke can cause asthma and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), along with increasing the chances of pneumonia, bronchitis, and middle ear infections. Fortunately, the AllerAir 5000 DS Air Purifier specializes in the adsorption of tobacco smoke, tar, fine ash, and other airborne particles. AllerAir’s MAC-B carbon filter will safely and effectively neutralize the chemicals and odors from tobacco smoke.
