Letter From The Editor

Dear Fellow Allergy Sufferers,

I love the "January feeling" of having a whole new year stretching out in front of me. And this year, the new start is especially full of expectations because it's the beginning of a new decade. What will the years ahead bring? Where will they take me? What will I do with them?

As you may know, AchooAllergy.com just celebrated our 10 year anniversary. As an entrepreneur in 2000, I was nervous about the many changes and possible improvements in allergy treatments. I have the same type of anticipation when I consider what lies ahead in the field of allergy and asthma. What discoveries will be made about why allergies are on the rise? Will emerging treatments like sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) become mainstream? What new technologies will be developed for allergy relief through environmental control?

Our monthly series of allergist interviews provides insight into some of these questions. Each month, I am particularly interested in what the doctors have to say about where they see allergy treatment going in the future. Food Allergy Herbal Formula-2 (FAHF-2) has come up twice this month – completely coincidentally – as the topic of our feature article and in our interview with Dr. Farhadian.

We look forward to following the exciting possibilities the new year and decade present. As always, we'll keep you informed of all breaking news related to allergy, asthma, and related conditions. Here's to questions asked and answered, and most of all to another year of breathing better.

Works Great! - Whirlpool Whispure AP45030K Air Purifier

I bought the Whirlpool AP45030K HEPA Air Purifier based on a consumer report review rating it the best of those tested, and AchooAllergy.com had the best price that I could find by far. I Had the item operating for about a month now and it seems to work, its quiet, no problems. I am NOT an allergy sufferer, so can't say if it would help those afflicted, but I don't see why not. I Chose the manual knob fan speed selection over the digital, fewer things to go wrong electronically and I don't require "turbo mode"! Just plug this machine in and turn knob, so simple.
