The best made better! The Blueair 603 air purifier cleans air in rooms up to 640 square feet.
If you are looking for an attractive yet functional air purifier,
this is it! It is good for the removal of pollen grains, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, and general indoor air pollution control.
The maintenance for this unit is very easy. Every six months, you
simply open up the lid, lift out the old filters, and drop in the
new filters. The Blueair
603 with Smokestop
filters is great for smoke removal. Designed for quiet operation, Blueair products are also the most energy efficient air
purifiers available, saving you money.
Blueair air purifiers have been EnergyStar certified because they are extremely energy efficient.
Blueair 603 Air Purifiers Product Features
HEPASilent technology, exclusive to Blueair, combines mechanical filtration and electrostatic filtration for highly effective air
cleaning that outperforms standard HEPA, capturing 99.97% of the tiniest particles at 0.1 micron. A layer of activated carbon adsorbs small particles and chemicals.
HEPASilent technology allows extremely quiet operation. The low-density filters clean large volumes of air more quietly than any other air purifier. On the lowest setting, Blueair air purifiers are about as quiet as the average desktop computer.
Exclusive SurroundAir technology draws dirty air in from all sides and gently diffuses air through an area six times greater than the average air cleaner.
EnergyStar rated low energy consumption saves you money on your power bill. In fact, it costs about the same to clean the air in your home as it does to power a single light bulb.
Optional Smokestop Filter has more activated carbon for enhanced removal of smoke, odors, and gases.
All Blueair products are environmentally aware and offer exceptional performance without polluting the environment. Blueair replaces
standard filters (which can harm the environment) with safer, nontoxic polypropylene filters. In addition, Bluair air purifiers are coated with a special
powder finish that produces no chemical off-gassing. The polypropylene filters also resist contamination from mold, bacteria, and viruses.
Unlike many electrostatic air cleaners, Blueair 603 air purifiers are safe for allergy and asthma patients because
they releases no ozone by-products.
Easy to Use & Maintain. Plug it in, select the speed setting, and forget it. To clean, simply wipe the steel exterior. When the filter
needs to be replaced (every six months), just open the lid, lift the old filters out, and drop the new ones. No screws, no tools, and barely any time required.
The award-winning design is sleek and stylish, and the steel housing is durable and easy to clean.

Pure Air
Reviewed by: L. Edwards from Collegeville, PA
My husband and I both have allergies and have used air purifiers for many years. Last year we got a smaller Blueair for our bedroom and have been very pleased. It does a great job of cleaning the air and is much quieter than other purifiers we have had. We now need to have cleaner air in the basement and the larger capacity of the 603 is just right. Blueair has become my favorite air purifier.
Blueair 603 Air Purifier
The Blueair 603 is nearly identical to the
Blueair 503 with a few
exceptions. Both units have identical dimensions, weights and
features. Aesthetically there are only a few minor differences,
though the color, shape and overall design are virtually
indistinguishable.
What separates these two units is the square footage that each can
cover. The 603 will cover approximately 100 more sq. ft. than the
503, at the same air exchange rate per hour (6). A slightly
different fan design allows for the greater coverage and slightly
improved results in the CADR test. In CADR testing the 503 ranges
from 377-388 for dust, tobacco smoke and pollen while the 603
exceeds that with results ranging from 380 to more than 450. The 603
has a three speed dial control, whereas the 503 has four. Lastly,
the Blueair 603 uses slightly more power, but not so much that you
would see a change in the electric bill of more than pocket change.
What I like about the Blueair 603:
It is attractive. The neutral off-white blends in seamlessly with my
walls, and the sleek contemporary curves of the design give it a
little more aesthetic appeal than most air purifiers. Actually, this
design won Blueair one of the most prestigious design awards in
Scandinavia – the Excellent Swedish Design award. I like that
Blueair designs their products to look nice as well as perform to
high standards.
It is quiet. The first two fan settings are so quiet I can barely
hear them. The highest fan setting is a little noisy, but it works
fine to run it when I am gone, outside of the room, or doing a loud
activity like cleaning or playing music. The knob on the simply
styled operation panel makes it easy to turn it from speed to speed,
so it’s no problem to switch it from higher to lower as you leave
and enter the room, just like switching on the light.
It is economical. On the lowest fan speed, the Blueair 603 consumes
about 15 power watts, less than a light bulb. Even on the highest
speed it is energy efficient, only consuming about 95 watts. This
was one of the major factors in my decision to choose the Blueair 603. I can run the air purifier all the time without worrying about
the electric bill.
The bright blue light on the side lets me know if the air purifier
is running, which is good since it is so quiet I can’t always tell.
The blue light might be a bit bright at night, but simply turning
that side towards the wall fixes the problem. It casts a blue glow
on the wall that doesn’t bother me at all when I’m trying to sleep.
However, for someone who prefers total darkness when they sleep, it
might be a problem.
What I do not like about the Blueair 603:
It is a little heavy. It covers a maximum room size of about 640
square feet, so 35 pounds is a reasonable weight. However, I wish it
had handles on the side like the Blueair 403, to make maneuvering it
a little easier. On the bright side, it does have casters, so it
rolls very easily, and is quite easy to position once you have it in
your house.
In summary,
the Blueair 603 offers the same great features as the 503
with slightly better filtration and a larger capacity. I was very happy with the Blueair 603. It is attractive
and quiet, and I like having it in my bedroom. I have felt more
rested in the mornings and my allergies have been much better inside
the house. I would definitely recommend this air purifier to anyone
who is looking for an economical and quiet unit that they can
incorporate into their living area.
