Ebac CD30 Dehumidifiers Customer Q & A

Q1: My crawlspace is 4-high by 1500sq ft what unit do I need to purchase? Thank you.

A: You have several options with this size space. The CD30 might work, provided the space doesn't have a real severe moisture issue, and you don't need a condensate pump. The Ebac CS60 is a bit bigger, no problems with that size of crawlspace, but again, if you have a grade so water can flow away and out of the crawlspace, perfect. If not, like with the CD30, you'll need to get a separate condensate pump. Another option would be the Santa Fe Compact2. It is similar in size to the Ebac CD30 with a few differences Energy Star certified, auto restart feature, much higher moisture removal rate - 70 pints per day vs 17 with the CD30, longer warranty and better air filter, a bit more expensive. Those are probably your three best, least expensive options. Hope that helps!

Q2: I am considering this unit for a 4 foot crawl space covered in visqueen. What sq. footage can this unit effectively dehumidify?

A: With Ebac, and really all larger dehumidifiers, cubic footage is your most accurate measurement since it most accurately represents to total volume of air that needs to be dehumidified. Given that you have a 4ft. ceiling, the CD30 will effectively cover 750 sq. ft. of crawlspace.
