I have not used this very much yet, but so far I am pretty happy with the performance. It did not look this good with my more expensive vacuum. Like the HEPA filter as well.
Lightweight but powerful

I took a bit of a flyer on this vacuum since I hadn't heard much about them before, and I'm glad I did. It's lightweight but perfect for my floors. The pieces are slide together easily, and it worked well on my rugs, even the one the dog like to lay on. I liked the price, esp. for it being a German made vacuum.
Customer Q & A
Q1: Does this vacuum use belts, and if so, are the replacements easy to find?
A: It does have a belt. Replacements would be ordered direct from Soniclean at http://www.mysoniclean.com/ Typically though, replacement times on a belt like this would be many years. The only things that would really cause them to fail prematurely is if there is a build up of hair or string wrapped around the brushroll, putting strain on the belt as it tries to keep it turning. Hope that helps!

Soniclean Galaxy 1150 Vacuum Cleaner
As a canister in the new line of Soniclean vacuums, the Galaxy 1150 comes equipped with most of the tools you will need
to clean in a home or apartment that has predominantly smooth floors, with some low pile carpet or rugs. Powerful suction, combined
with excellent filtration means this canister not only removes the dirt and debris that you can see but also the allergens and fine
particles that you cannot. I spent a weekend using the Galaxy 1150 at home, and this is what I found.
What I like about the Soniclean Galaxy 1150
My home is an ideal one for this vacuum cleaner. There is tile, linoleum, hardwood, some steps, several rugs (entryways), ceiling fans,
and of course, a dog. Starting at the top and working my way down, I cleaned. No one thinks much about mini-accessories... until you don't
have them. The dusting brush is the one I generally get the most use from. Whether dusting the top of the window/door frames, the ceiling fan,
baseboards or blinds (I tried them all), the mini attachments work well, and the suction can be adjusted via the rotary dial on the body or
the slide on the handle. In terms of these types of above-the-floor cleaning tasks, the Galaxy performed perfectly!
The suction on this vacuum is strong enough for any cleaning task. From sucking up pet hair to removing dirt and debris that gathers in the
track of a sliding glass door, the full power strength of the suction removes stuck-on debris regardless of the task. In addition to the suction,
filtration is a benefit for people dealing with allergies or asthma. The first line of defense is the microparticle filterbag. Though not
HEPA quality, it does remove the vast majority of particles you pick up. Next the air passes through a pre-motor filter, then finally it goes
through a HEPA filter before leaving the vacuum. This type of multiple-stage filtration removes most of the dirt, debris and allergens in the
air, actually making the air in your home cleaner than before you vacuumed.
On the flooring that I have in my home, I again had good results. Personally, I prefer the power of an electrically driven cleaning
head. Though, this is overkill for rugs and low pile carpet, and not needed for smooth flooring. The Galaxy 1150 comes with a air-driven turbo
brush. This tool lacks a bit of the power of a powerhead but is perfect for low pile carpet and the rugs that I have in my home. I had
flip-flops on while cleaning, so I tried to make this as lazy for myself as possible. I used my toe to adjust the slide on the turbobrush,
adjusting it until the suction was perfect for rugs. Enough to clean rugs but not enough to actually suck the rug up, being able to adjust
the suction is key in not having to struggle while cleaning. On tile and
linoleum the smooth floor tool worked fine. As with a lot of smooth
floor tools, I recommend periodically taking the tool off (with the vacuum still running), then using the end of the wand to clear away any
debris that may accumulate on the bristles, particularly if you have pets and are sucking up a lot of pet hair.
The last overall feature I wanted to note was value. In terms of getting a good canister that will last you several years, it's not difficult
to find yourself spending 2X as much as the cost of the Galaxy. However, with this vacuum you get the staple features and a few added features
without a budget busting price tag. Some little amenities include the park feature (2 places), an automatically rewinding cord, bag change
indicator and ease of use. These all add up to make the Soniclean Galaxy canister a well rounded and very affordable home cleaner.
What I do not like about the Soniclean Galaxy 1150
There were several little things I found lacking with this canister. Unfortunately I find it difficult not to compare this model to
a Miele. But those biases aside, here are few things I wish were better. The cord, wand and hose all could be longer. At their current lengths
they work just fine, but as a taller person I did find myself wanting for a little extra reach when cleaning. For my size of house, the cord length
was not an issue at all, BUT I bring this up only because I know for many people it's a feature that they really like. Aside from these, my only real
complaint is with bag capacity. It is relatively small no matter what you compare it to. Note though, because of the softer nature of the bristles of
the smooth floor tool, if you are cleaning up a lot of pet hair like me, you will have to clean the brush off a little more frequently (as described above).
In all the Soniclean Galaxy 1150 represents good value. In the right type of home, this vacuum cleaner can be a versatile and effective way to
clean and remove things like allergens from not only your floors but all surfaces. While I do have some general complaints with this model, it is
hard to gripe too much, given the price. For homes with mostly smooth flooring, I think the Soniclean 1150 is a solid choice.
