Blueair's HEPASilent™ Air Purifier Filtration is designed to deliver a quieter and more efficient operation with lower energy costs. The dual-sided combo HEPA filter captures 99.97% of the smallest airborne particles including dust, mold, pollen, pet dander, VOCs, bacteria, odors, and more. This HEPASilent™ filtration technology uses both Electrostatic and Mechanical Filtration. This includes a HEPASilent™ Filter and a built-in ionizer, which simply means that the purifier uses both a traditional filter and an ionizer. The ionizer negatively charges incoming particles such as pollen, dust, dander, and mold. These now negatively charged particles are then forced into the positively charged HEPASilent™ mechanical filter. Once these particles are drawn into the filter, they are effectively trapped there. The combination of electrostatic filtration and mechanical HEPASilent™ filtration also allows the filter material to be less dense. This means that because the filter material isn't too thick, air more easily passes through it, creating stronger airflow rates.
