Dri-Eaz LGR 2800i Dehumidifier
The the LRG 2800i, Dri-Eaz has taken a big step forward in the areas of restoration dehumidification and controlled dehumidification. While many commercial and professional grade dehumidifiers have hours run meters and some even have timers that can be set, the 2800i takes controlled dehumidification to another level. When coupled with a HygroTrac remote monitoring system, this dehumidifier will wirelessly transmit current inlet and outlet conditions to help better control water removal. This technology built into a workhorse of a dehumidifier makes the LGR 2800i ones of the most efficient dehumidifiers available today.
What I like about the LGR 2800i Dehumidifier
Without question, the core of this unit is water removal capacity. At 90° F and 90% relative humidity, the 2800i will remove 200 pints per day. That's 25 gallons of water per day! Under AHAM testing conditions, the 2800i is still rated at 130 pints per day. An integrated condensate pump gives you the ability to push the water you remove from the air, outdoors or to a nearby drain. And low grain refrigerant maximizes dehumidifying capability by allowing the 2800i to perform at higher temperatures than comparable models.
Other features include a built-in humidistat which allows you to create relative humidity set points at 5% increments. And an automatic temperature control will adjust the unit to continue operation even in conditions that exceed normal operating temperatures. Lastly, this dehumidifier has a high velocity output that aids in accelerating drying by pushing dehumidified air at floor level.
One of our big concerns as an allergy company is indoor air quality. We place a lot of emphasis on air filtration. The LGR 2800i has HAF (High Air Flow) filters that are twice as efficient as washable foam filters used in many dehumidifiers.
Like all Dri-Eaz models, if the power should happen to go out, once restored, the unit will go into a 5 minute holding period then restart at your last previous settings.
What I do not like about the LGR 2800i Dehumidifier
Thankfully, the LGR 2800i has wheels. Yet even with these, the sheer weight of this unit may be a bit too much for some. Weighing in at a whopping 165lbs. this dehumidifier is best used by the professional.
It is hard for me to find anything that I do not like about the 2800i other than the weight. It has taken its rightful spot of being one of Dri-Eaz's best products, because it will work for a not only the restoration professional but also the homeowner who needs heavy duty water removal. It is an excellent drying machine and maintains a relatively small footprint. Overall, the Dri-Eaz LGR 2800i is a durable, commercial-grade dehumidifier that gives you a wider operating range and a higher water removal capacity than most comparable dehumidifiers.
