With it's convenient Top-Fill Design, refilling this home humidifier is a breeze. Different from other humidifiers needing tank removal, the EasyCare+ boasts a convenient and user-friendly top-fill design. This simple-to-use design features an extra-wide flip-top lid, making it easy to pour water directly into the tank or refill right at the sink. This means you won't have to worry about lugging heavy water tanks around when it comes time to refill!
As well as being easy to refill, this Vicks Humidifier is also easy to care for thanks to its Filter-Free Operation. It works by using ultrasonic waves to evenly disperse moisture throughout areas up to 400 square feet without the need for a filter. For this reason, this filter-free humidifier needs less maintenance and helps you save on filter-replacement costs. This makes it an excellent option for anyone who doesn’t want the inconvenience of purchasing replacement filters every few weeks. The EasyCare+ features two built-in mechanisms that enable you to have cough and throat-soothing vapor 2 ways. The first is with Vicks® Vapo Steam® Camphor Medicated Liquid (not included) which can be placed in the built-in medicine cup. Next, you can use Vicks® Soothing Menthol VapoPads® (1 sample included), which can be placed directly into the designated VapoPads® compartment located on the front of the unit. Essential oils (not included) can also be used in the medicine cup if desired.

Additional Product Information
Using Vicks Vapo Steam or Your Own Essential Oils (Not Included):
This humidifier features a Medicine Cup that can be used with your favorite essential oil or liquid inhalant (like Vicks VapoSteam) for added enjoyment. The cup is heated to help evaporate the oil. This is not a diffuser – the oil does not meet the water but is passively evaporated into the air. Essential oils and inhalants are not included.
- 1. Turn off the humidifier.
- 2. Add 1 Tablespoon Vicks VapoSteam or a few drops of essential oil to the Medicine Cup. Turn on the humidifier.
- 3. To clean the Medicine Cup, wait 5 minutes after turning the unit off. Then, gently wipe the residue from the cup with a soft cloth.
Using Vicks VapoPads:
Your humidifier can be used with Vicks VapoPads to provide up to 8 hours of soothing vapors. One free sample of the menthol VapoPad is included with your humidifier. To use your unit with Vicks VapoPads:
- 1. Open VapoPad Door.
- 2. Open VapoPad by tearing the notch on the pad bag. Don't touch the pad with your hands. If the pad is touched, DO NOT rub your face or eyes, as it may cause irritation.
- 3. Insert Vicks VapoPad with an angled end facing towards the product. Up to two VapoPads can be inserted. Close door.
- 4. After 8 hours, discard VapoPad. To continue using VapoPads, repeat steps 1-4.
VapoPad Recommended Usage:
- Not recommended for infants under 10 lbs. (4.5 kg).
- For children between 10-22 lbs. (4.5-10 kg ), do not use more than 2 pads in a 24-hour period.
- Sample VapoPad Ingredients: Eucalyptus Oil, Menthol, Glycol, Cedar Leaf Oil & Others.
Water Quality and Your Humidifier
High mineral content in your water, also known as “hard water,” may cause a white mineral residue to accumulate on surfaces in the room near the humidifier. This mineral residue is commonly referred to as “White Dust.” The higher the mineral content or hardness of your water, the greater the potential that you may have white dust. “White Dust” is not a result of a defect or flaw in the humidifier. It is a result of the amount of minerals suspended in the water you are using. If you live in a hard water area, the use of distilled water will minimize the production of white dust.
Weekly Cleaning:
It is recommended that you empty the Water Tank and Reservoir when the unit is not in use, rinse them, and let them air dry. To keep your humidifier running efficiently, clean it regularly. Weekly cleaning is recommended. To properly clean your humidifier, we recommend the separate processes of Scale Removal and Disinfecting shown below. These two processes must be performed separately.
Instructions for Scale Removal:
- 1. Turn off and unplug the humidifier.
- Remove any accessories and wipe any remaining residue from the Medicine Cup.
- Remove the Water Tank from the Base. Holding the Base, empty water from the Reservoir.
- Pour a minimum of 1 cup (1/4 liter) of undiluted distilled white vinegar into the Water Tank. Gently swish vinegar around in the Tank to wet the entire inside of the Tank.
- Place Tank on Base. Vinegar will drain into the Water Reservoir and loosen mineral buildup (scale) in the Reservoir and bottom of the Water Tank. There should be enough vinegar to cover the bottom inside of the tank.
- Soak for 20 minutes, then remove the Water Tank and slowly empty the vinegar into the sink. Rinse with tap water until the smell of vinegar is gone.
- Empty vinegar from the Base and Reservoir area.
- Remove the Float Paddle from the Reservoir by lifting on the sides. Wipe the Float Paddle and Reservoir area with a soft cloth to remove loosened minerals. If mineral buildup is stubborn on the nebulizer, loosen it with a soft toothbrush. Rinse the base making sure water does not enter the vented fan or power knob. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
- Place Float Paddle back in Reservoir. Position in place. For detailed instructions, refer to the Float Paddle Installation section.
Instructions for Disinfecting:
Follow Steps 1-3 in the Scale Removal Instructions in the previous section. NOTE: Bleach may stain clothes. It is recommended that you wear rubber gloves during this process to protect your hands.
- 1. Add 1/2 teaspoon (2.5mL) of bleach to 1/2 gallon (1.9L) of water. Pour the bleach solution into the Tank, wetting the entire inside with the bleach solution. Place the Mist Nozzle inside to also disinfect. NOTE: Using more than 1 tablespoon of bleach for 1 gallon (3.8L) of water may result in damage to the humidifier.
- 2. Place Tank on Base. Bleach solution will drain into the Water Reservoir.
- 3. Soak for 20 minutes, then remove the Water Tank and slowly empty the bleach solution into the sink. Wearing rubber gloves carefully remove the Nozzle. Rinse the Tank and Nozzle with water until the smell of bleach is gone.
- 4. Empty bleach solution from the Base and Reservoir area. Carefully rinse, making sure water does not enter the vented fan or power knob until the smell of bleach is gone.
- 5. Remove the Float Paddle from the Reservoir by lifting on the sides and rinsing.
- 6. Using a soft cloth, wipe the Base, VapoPad Door, Medicine Cup, Chimney, Float Paddle, and Mist Nozzle.
- 7. Place Float Paddle back in Reservoir. Position in place. For detailed instructions, refer to the Float Paddle Installation section.
End-Of-Season Care and Storage:
Follow the CLEANING instructions when the humidifier will not be used for at least one week or it is the end of the season. At the end of the season, remove any accessories used with the humidifier and allow the humidifier and accessories to dry completely before storing. Don't store water inside the Base, Water Reservoir, or Tank.
