Blueair 270E Air Purifiers Product Features
|
HEPASilent technology, exclusive to Blueair, combines mechanical filtration and electrostatic filtration for
highly effective air cleaning that outperforms standard HEPA, capturing 99.97% of the tiniest particles at 0.1 micron.
Optional SmokeStop filter reduces odors, smoke, fumes, and gases.
HEPASilent technology allows extremely quiet operation. The low-density filters clean large volumes of air more quietly than any other air purifier. On the lowest
setting, Blueair air purifiers are about as quiet as the average desktop computer.
Exclusive SurroundAir technology draws dirty air in from all sides and gently diffuses air through an area six times greater than the average air cleaner.

The Blueair 270E air purifier is the same as the Blueair 203, except the 270E has an
easy-to-use digital display with instant feedback of particle detection, air purifier speed and timer operation and
remote control.
EnergyStar rated low energy consumption saves you money on your power bill. In fact, it costs less to clean the air in
your home than it does to power a single light bulb.
All Blueair products are environmentally aware and offer exceptional performance without polluting the environment.
Blueair replaces standard filters (which can harm the environment) with safer,
nontoxic polypropylene filters. In addition, Blueair air purifiers are coated with a special powder finish that produces
no chemical off-gassing. The polypropylene filters also resist contamination from mold, bacteria, and viruses.
Unlike many electrostatic air cleaners, Blueair 270E air purifiers are safe for allergy and asthma patients because they release no ozone by-products.
Easy to Use & Maintain. Plug it in, select the speed setting, and forget it. To clean, simply wipe the steel exterior. When the filter needs to be replaced
(every six months), just open the lid, lift the old filters out, and drop the new ones. No screws, no tools, and barely any time required.
The award-winning design is sleek and stylish, and the steel housing is durable and easy to clean.
Effective for room sizes up to 210 square feet.

    Defeated machine
Reviewed by: Wendy from Stamford, CT

First, let me say that ordering by phone through AchooAllergy was a pleasure- very accommodating. Unfortunately, the 270E with SmokeStop filter did not reduce the smoke which pours down constantly into my place from my upstairs neighbor yes, I followed all the directions. The machine maintained its electronic "OK" smiley face even with a heavy stench in the air. This machine does not reduce the odor of "outgassing" issuing from a heavy smoker's condo unit. To their credit, AchooAllergy was most gracious in helping me return the machine.

    Excellent air purifier
Reviewed by: A hypersensitivity pneumonitis sufferer from Illinois

I purchased the Blueair 270E air purifier for my office after developing sensitivity to certain allergens in my office environment - pet dander, mold spores, dust.
My office size is approximately 14 x 18, which I share with another employee.
This purifier runs extremely quietly on the first two settings, although the air exchange on the first setting is, naturally, low. The third setting really cleans the air, and I can work with it running. At this setting, I compare the sound level to that of a inexpensive box fan running on low. It is not bothersome to me in the least. My officemate says she does not mind running it on the third setting either.
The electronic display on the top of the purifier shows the dust level and the smell level. A little smiley face next to the level bars indicates if your dust and smell level is making the face smile or frown. There is also a display indicator for when the filter needs replacing.
The filter is a bit pricey, as is any Blueair purifier filter. But if one is looking for a quiet purifier to aid in cleaning the air for better breathing, the benefits outweigh the higher cost.
Also, the filter needs to be replaced approximately every six months and, again, the price may be prohibitive to some individuals. However, in my experience with the 270E, its performance in my office has been awesome and I'm able to breathe so I'll gladly pay for the filter replacement.
One final benefit to mention of the 270E is that it has a timer. Since I am in an office using my employer's electricity with his approval, I might add I can use the timer to maximize the necessary time I need the purifier running.
This is an excellent purifier for an office, a bedroom, or a room within a home which needs the air purified quietly.

Blueair 270E Air Purifier
I wanted an air purifier that would help my wife with her allergies, would look good in our house,
and would operate very quietly. After looking at several units from different manufacturers, I purchased a
Blueair 270E. The engineers at Blueair must have had Simon and Garfunkel's song "The Sound of Silence" as their
target when developing the 270E. Even on its highest setting, it's stealthily quiet.
So what's not to like about that? But there's more here to like than what meets the ear (or rather in this case, what doesn't). It's stylish,
and even though it has an electronic display, it's refreshingly simple to operate. One push of a button is all it
takes to start enjoying clean air. The unit also comes with a convenient remote.
What I like about the Blueair 270E
- Blends into our house unobtrusively. Blueair has long touted this award winning design.
- Is quiet as a mouse. At some of the lowest decibel ranges available the 200 series Blueair air purifiers are whisper quiet.
- Effective dust remover. The 270E, like all Blueair models, features some of the best CADR for its class.
- Remote control. Combined with a small LED display, the 270E combines the convenience of electronic controls with ease of use.
- 5 year warranty.
What I did not like about the Blueair 270E
- Has an ion generator. Like many air purifier models, the 270E has an optional negative ion generator. In general we recommend you to avoid use.
- The SmokeStop filter is optional. For smoke and odor filtration you should opt for the SmokeStop model. Aside from selecting this model, the 270E features only
a thin strip of activated carbon to trap odors or smoke.
In summary, I give the Blueair 270E five stars. I am very pleased with its performance so far,
and the 5 year warranty makes it worry free. If you are looking for a worthy soldier in the war
against allergens, dust, and other particle pollution then look no further than the Blueair
270E. You will not be disappointed.
