The Danby DDR556RH Silhouette Dehumidifier and Heater is perfect for basements, garages, and any rooms that tend to collect moisture and get chilly during the winter. The built-in 1200-watt heater can be used independently of the dehumidifier. The dehumidifier covers areas up to 3200 square-feet and removes up to 55 pints of water a day. The super quiet dehumidifier features electronic controls with a remote control, two fan speeds, fully adjustable humidity settings, an auto de-icer to prevent build-up of ice on the coils, low-temperature operation down to 44°F, and an auto-restart feature that restarts the unit at the same settings after a power outage. The Danby DDR556H Silhouette Dehumidifier and Heater comes with a removable air filter that’s easy to clean and a direct drain option for continuous operation. Does the job! Reviewed by: Wanting to be dry! from New Jersey I had to replace my old Kenmore dehumidifier for an extremely wet basement. This model is doing it's job in a very difficult environment --- wet conditions in a basement that does not have a door. The unit is running continuously but is very quiet. The room has dropped from 76% humidity to about 45-50% and has stayed there which is fine. The air quality and relative dryness are welcoming. Although we have been using this for about 1 month, one other reasion for this purchase was the 1200-watt heater. In the colder months, the basement is very cold. Since we use this space as a fitness room, the heater will be of much comfort this fall/winter!
