The Electrolux Harmony:
This is probably the cutest vacuum I’ve ever seen – the big soft
wheels, the rounded design, the silky matte red finish, and the
lightweight 12 lb canister that just begs you to carry it. This
vacuum says, "Pick me!" However, aside from its charming
personality, there are many other good reasons to pick this vacuum
cleaner.
Things I liked about the Electrolux Harmony:
Light
My favorite thing about the Electrolux Harmony is how light it is.
This is the only canister vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used that I could
easily carry in one arm while vacuuming. The vacuum canister also
rolls easily, because it is light and has big soft wheels that make
it very maneuverable. I really like having the option to either roll
it or carry it.
Quiet
The Harmony is one of the quietest vacuums that Electrolux has made.
Of course, it is most quiet at lower suctions. Even at the highest
suction, it is fairly quiet.
Suction Control
There are two different ways to control suction on the Electrolux
Harmony. First, there is a two-position switch on the canister from
"gentle" to "full power". There is also a suction control tab on the
handle, which increases or decreases suction by closing or opening
up an air release. Although this method is not as elegant as some
canister vacs, it does work well, and it gives you a very wide range
of suction control.
Easy to Assemble Parts
The floor nozzle pops on and off smoothly and easily. The
telescoping wand is also very easy to adjust.
Auto-rewinding Cord
I love this feature so much. I always get really annoyed at the time
it takes to loop up the cord on my upright vacuum cleaner. I love
being able to just push the button and have the cord disappear.
Unique Design
The Electrolux canister vacuums definitely have their own unique
look, with their large handles and big wheels. In keeping with this
unique design, the Harmony is also compact, especially rounded, and
quite cute. Whether or not you like the look, the design really is
more ergonomic and easy to manage.
Easy change filter and bag
The HEPA filter is extremely easy to change. It’s very simple, you
just flip open the door on the top of the canister, and pull the
filter right out. The bag is also very easy to access. You can
purchase compatible washable HEPA filters from Electrolux, but these
do not come standard with the Harmony.
Wand-parking feature
The wand parking feature works very nicely. All you have to do is
slide a notch on the floor nozzle into a slot on the canister. It
feels much more sturdy and secure than others I have used. The wand
park feature, along with the compact design, means that the vacuum
cleaner stores neatly and easily.
Things I didn’t like about the Electrolux Harmony:
Tool caddy design
The tool caddy is not inside the canister, but on the handle. It
seems a little flimsy and precarious, and the tools might be easier
to lose. A caddy inside the canister would be more secure and
convenient. Of course, with a lightweight canister that only weighs
12 lbs, you can’t fit everything.
Washable HEPA filters not standard
The washable HEPA filters on other Electrolux models do not come
standard with the Electrolux Harmony. However, they are compatible,
and can be purchased separately below.
In summary, I would highly recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone
looking for a lightweight canister vacuum cleaner for smooth floors.
It performed very well on my smooth floors, and equally well on my
area rugs, leaving them fluffy and clean. At an extremely affordable
price, it’s a great way to clean smooth floors, area rugs,
upholstery, and drapes, as well as dust furniture.
